As the Camp Health Manager for Wildwood’s summer camp season, you will be responsible for providing on-site healthcare for campers and staff during the camp season. You will assess and treat minor illnesses and injuries, provide first aid when needed, and manage medication administration. You will also be responsible for maintaining health records and ensuring that all health-related protocols are followed, contributing to the overall safety and success of the camp experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct healthcare to campers and staff, including administering first aid, medication, and treatment for minor illnesses or injuries.
  • Monitor and maintain camper health records, including medication administration and allergies.
  • Respond to medical emergencies, ensuring that appropriate actions are taken and coordinating with emergency services if necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized camp health center with necessary medical supplies.
  • Educate campers and staff on proper hygiene, injury prevention, and basic health practices.
  • Communicate with parents regarding any health issues or concerns related to their children.
  • Assist in the development and enforcement of health and safety protocols and emergency action plans and participate in staff training related to health and safety.


Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with current, valid state licensure in Kansas.
  • Previous experience in pediatric or camp nursing is preferred but not required.
  • Strong clinical skills and experience with first aid, CPR, and emergency care.
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions quickly, and handle medical emergencies with professionalism.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with camp staff, parents, and children.
  • Training and/or experience in mental health, crisis response, and trauma-informed care are a plus as Wildwood serves a high percentage of low-income youth.
  • Comfortable spending time outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Summer Work Schedule:

5 p.m. on Sunday through 5 p.m. on Friday each week from late May 2025 through early August 2025. The Camp Nurse is required to live on-site during summer camp sessions.

Salary

$800 - $1,200 per week
