Whole Connection LLC Psychiatric Provider (PMHNP or PA-C) Boulder, CO · Part time

Whole Connection is seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dedicated team in providing comprehensive mental health care.

About Whole Connection LLC

Whole Connection came together as a place to provide training and constant growth for therapists who were working in the community, particularly with community members who have difficulty accessing mental health resources. Central to our work is understanding a person through a social work perspective. This means we look at how culture and society affect individuals as we explore their mental health concerns. We believe that all people should have access to Therapy, by clinicians and interns who are continually trained and educated and who are also taken care of (not overworked). In doing so we try and meet the needs of those of the community who come to see us by either sliding our fees or accepting medicaid insurance.

Description

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA)

Whole Connection · Boulder & Denver, Colorado (hybrid — in-person + statewide telehealth)****Part-time to start (16–24 hours/week), growing to full-time · $72–85/hour clinical

Help restart our psychiatric program from the ground up

Whole Connection is a trauma-informed group practice serving Boulder, Denver, and clients across Colorado by telehealth. About half our clients are on Health First Colorado (Medicaid) — a population almost no private practice in this state will take. Our therapists speak Spanish, Somali, and Farsi, and we've built this practice around people who get turned away everywhere else.

We're relaunching our psychiatric medical program after a year-long pause, and we're hiring the provider who will define it. This is a founding role: you'll shape the clinical model, the protocols, and the standards, working with a practice that already has the referral volume to fill your schedule.

We're starting part-time on purpose. Sixteen to twenty-four hours a week, growing to full-time as your panel fills — which means you can join without leaving your current position, and we can build this carefully instead of gambling on a fast ramp. If you're at a community mental health center or a hospital and want to build something of your own alongside it, this is designed for you.

What you'll do

Direct clinical care-

Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and risk assessments across the lifespan, including children and adolescents- Ongoing medication management across the full range of psychotropics, including controlled substances- Individualized treatment planning integrated with the client's therapist — one shared plan, not a parallel chart- Consultation and coordination with primary care, our therapy team, and outside providers- Timely intervention and care coordination for psychiatric crises

Documentation and compliance-

Clinical documentation in our EHR (Opus), supported by our AI clinical scribe and documentation review tools — built specifically so clinicians spend less time typing- Progress notes signed within 48 hours; assessment and treatment plan reviews every 6 months, per Colorado BHA requirements- Electronic prescribing in compliance with federal, Colorado, and DEA requirements, including PDMP review before every opioid or benzodiazepine prescription- Documentation that supports accurate coding and clean claims

Building the program

Developing clinical protocols, workflows, and policies for the medical service- Participating in quality assurance and peer review- Clinical team meetings and case consultation- As the program grows: mentoring future prescribers and trainees

What we're looking for

Required

Master's degree or higher from an accredited PMHNP or PA program- Current, unrestricted Colorado license*— PMHNP with Colorado prescriptive authority (RXN), or PA with Colorado licensure.

Colorado licensure is required; out-of-state telehealth registration does not permit controlled-substance prescribing here.*- Board certification (ANCC for PMHNP, NCCPA for PA)- Current DEA registration-

Psychiatric practice experience — this is a psychiatric prescribing role, not a general medical one- Comfort with an EHR and e-prescribing

Strongly preferred

PMHNP holding full (non-provisional) Colorado RXN.

Existing credentialing with Colorado Medicaid RAEs (CCHA, Colorado Access, Northeast Health Partners/Carelon, RMHP, Health Colorado) and/or commercial payers (Anthem, Cigna/Evernorth, United/UMR, Aetna, Kaiser, Medicare, Tricare)

Experience with Medicaid populations and complex, under-resourced clients

Experience with children and adolescents- Spanish, Somali, Farsi, or another second language

Not yet credentialed?

Apply anyway — we start your enrollment the day you sign, and we'll tell you honestly how your hours build. Colorado Medicaid typically clears in about a month; commercial payers take several. Because roughly half our clients are on Health First Colorado and already need psychiatric care they can't get from us,

Medicaid credentialing alone is enough to fill a part-time schedule from our own referrals. Commercial is what takes you from part-time to full-time.

Candidates already credentialed can start seeing clients very quickly, and we recognize that (below).

$72–85/hour for clinical time and $35–40/hour for administrative time*(documentation, care coordination, refills), with your rate within the band set by experience and existing credentialing.

PTO, Sick Time and 401(k) from your first day. Malpractice coverage included.

Growing to full-time. As your panel fills, hours grow. At 30+ combined clinical and administrative hours per week you become eligible for our full benefits package: health insurance
