Position Overview
The Outreach Director develops and manages outreach programs that connect Westend Christian Reformed Church to the local community, with a focus on a mentorship partner program, which pairs volunteers with at-risk children and youth. This role fosters relationships through outreach, service projects, and initiatives that reflect the church’s mission to serve, grow, and guide people to Jesus Christ.
Primary Responsibilities

Outreach Strategy: Develop and implement outreach strategies aligned with the church’s mission, identifying community needs and engagement opportunities.

Program Management: Coordinate programs like food distribution, community dinners, summer day camp, and mentorships.

Volunteer Support: Recruit, train, and support volunteers, fostering a culture of service.

Kids Hope (Mentorship) Engagement: Build mentoring relationships with at-risk children, provide regular check-ins, and support their growth and development.

Community Engagement: Build relationships with local organizations, schools, and businesses, and represent the church at community events.

Communication & Promotion: Create promotional materials and use media to raise awareness of outreach programs.

Evaluation: Monitor and report on the effectiveness of outreach efforts to church leadership.
Qualifications, Character, and Skills
- Strong faith in Jesus Christ and alignment with Christian Reformed doctrines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Ministry, Social Work, a related field, or equivalent relevant experience (preferred).
- Experience in church ministry or nonprofit community outreach.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Passion for community service and relationship-building.
- Active involvement in the life, worship, and families of Westend Church (preferred).
- Compassionate and servant-hearted leadership.
- Collaborative and adaptable approach.
- Problem-solving and commitment to the church’s mission.
Job Type
This is a part-time, hourly position, working 20-25 hours per week. This position requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as well as local travel for outreach activities and events.
