As a Seasonal Animal Control Officer (SACO) with Wenatchee Valley Animal Care & Control, you’ll help protect animals, support families, and serve your community while gaining valuable hands-on experience in animal welfare and public service.
This fixed-term, part-time opportunity is ideal for individuals interested in animal welfare, community outreach, and animal control services. Working alongside experienced Animal Control Officers, you’ll develop practical skills, contribute to meaningful programs, and play an important role in supporting the safety and well-being of both people and animals throughout the Wenatchee Valley.

This position provides structured training, mentorship, and real-world experience alongside experienced Animal Control Officers. High-performing seasonal employees who demonstrate our core values and meet position qualifications may be eligible to apply for future full-time Animal Control Officer opportunities as they become available.
This is an active, field-based position that combines outdoor work, community engagement, and shelter support. Duties may include driving agency vehicles, responding to calls throughout the community, handling animals, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and lifting up to 75 pounds. Employees may work weekends, holidays, irregular hours during emergencies, and in environments that include noise, odors, allergens, animal illness, and emotionally challenging situations. Professional appearance, sound judgment, and adherence to agency policies and safety standards are essential.
