Temporary Position Summer 2026


Welcoming Alliance for Refugee Ministry INC (WARM) is a faith-based nonprofit organization established in 2016.  Our mission is to build a bridge between the church and our city’s refugees by equipping and mobilizing followers of Jesus to welcome the foreigners living among us, directly assisting refugees with physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and partnering with existing agencies serving refugees. We envision the church welcoming and caring for every refugee God has brought to Worcester and the greater Springfield area. 


Purpose:


The goal of the Program Coordinator is to collaborate with the Program Manager(s) in the creation and development of programs that support WARM’s main objectives, to care for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of refugees in Worcester. 


Responsibilities:


  • Work with the program manager and executive director to build strategic plans that align with WARM’s vision and evaluate impact and effectiveness
  • Develop, organize, and implement programs and events for refugees alongside the program manager  – Assess needs, maximize resources, and develop solutions to empower and build strength among refugee families and communities
  • Plan one-time events for volunteers and refugees to collaborate and build community; delegate responsibilities in order to execute these events
  • Collaborate with the staff and other core team members to assist as needed with organizational needs: to engage and follow up with volunteers, serve as a mentor for volunteers, and recruit new volunteers
  • Communication  – collaborate with staff to draft strategic communications, create fliers, social media posts, respond to emails, attend staff meetings 



Requirements:

  • Follower of Jesus with passion for engaging believers in serving refugees 
  • Sense of calling in cross-cultural ministry and a love for the nations
  • Experience in volunteering, serving refugees, and/or cross-cultural outreach
  • Ability to cooperate and work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people including colleagues, volunteers, refugees, agencies, and supporting churches to achieve strategic objectives
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and planning skills 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency with Google products, social media platforms, and productivity applications
  • Committed problem-solver and team-builder
  • Self-directed, honest, enthusiastic, creative, teachable
  • Flexible to adjust weekly schedule and responsibilities based on the changing climate of refugee resettlement and the needs of the organization
  • Knowledgeable of best practices for program development, event planning, and mentorship
  • Active learner and teachable


Salary and Benefits:


$23/hour payroll

Temporary 3 month position -  June to September 2026 (Exact dates TBD)

Mileage reimbursement

PTO accrual

Average 20 hours a week
