As the Sales Consultant at Wayne Media, you’ll play a pivotal role in both driving new business and ensuring client satisfaction from sales prospecting through the duration of their engagement. This is a hybrid role that blends consultative sales with relationship-focused client onboarding and success. You'll be the face of Wayne Media during some of the most critical moments in the client journey: prospecting, selling and onboarding. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building trust with business owners, and can toggle between big-picture strategy and operational follow-through.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Business Development
  • Identify and engage prospective clients who need creative marketing solutions across creative, video, web, podcasting, and advertising.
  • Lead consultative sales conversations that position Wayne Media’s value-first, strategy-driven approach.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with business owners, decision-makers, and referral partners.
  • Create proposals, present solutions, and close new client engagements, both retainers and project-based services.
  • Track sales activity, maintain sales pipeline, and contribute to monthly and quarterly revenue goals.
  • Have a strong understanding of all of our service offerings.
  • Network with companies in the Livingston County area.
  • Client Onboarding & Relationship Management
  • Act as the first point of contact once a sale is closed, ensuring a smooth handoff to internal teams.
  • Facilitate a seamless onboarding experience by gathering client goals, expectations, and essential project information.
  • Set clear communication expectations and build early-stage trust with the client.
  • Serve as a liaison between the client and internal teams during onboarding, ensuring alignment on deliverables and timelines.
  • Support account leads with upsell or cross-sell opportunities based on evolving client needs.
  • Lead the transition from sales to production through setting up client spaces in the project management system and follow up on onboarding deadlines to ensure the process is seamless.

  • Perform any and all duties assigned by the COO or CEO.

Skills: 

  • Sales Prospecting & Closing: Comfortable identifying leads, conducting consultative sales conversations, and handling objections.
  • Proposal & Agreement Creation: Ability to put together compelling proposals, scopes, and contracts aligned with client needs.
  • Onboarding Coordination: Skilled at managing the handoff from sales to service delivery, including documentation and kickoff prep.
  • Upselling & Cross-Selling: Natural ability to uncover new opportunities within existing relationships without being pushy.
  • Time & Pipeline Management: Can juggle multiple leads, onboarding phases, and ongoing accounts simultaneously with grace.
  • Client Communication During Ramp-up: Able to build early momentum and trust in the first 30–45 days of the engagement.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in Sales & Marketing Services – Preferably in a marketing agency, digital advertising, or media production environment.
  • Strong Communicator – Ability to lead conversations, understand client pain points, and translate them into marketing solutions.
  • Organized & Detail-Oriented – Comfortable handling onboarding processes, client documentation, and ensuring smooth project launches.
  • Growth-Oriented – Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is motivated to hit revenue and performance goals.
  • Relationship-Builder – Able to maintain trust and provide ongoing value to clients.
  • Experience using a project management tool (Asana, ClickUp, Monday, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of a variety of sales programs (Pipedrive, HubSpot, Salesforce).
  • Comfortable working in the Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Meet, etc.)

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary of $36,000 per year with commission earning potential up to $70,000 per year (OTE aligned with performance)
