Job Summary:

VSE Tek is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager (PM) to support the Air Force Weather Weapons System. The PM will support the core enterprise system components that impact cloud service availability and the mission applications needed for mission execution. The primary mission outcome is to provide operational readiness across climatology systems, data ingest pipelines, processing services, and operational web applications that are currently impacting mission execution. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the program, ensuring that all project objectives are met, and deliverables are completed on time and within budget.


Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide overall management, technical leadership, and strategic direction
  • Build and sustain a positive, mission-focused program culture centered on delivery excellence and professional growth
  • Ensure all internal requirements, deliverables, and reporting obligations are completed accurately and on time
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to synchronize operations and ensure requirements are met and/or exceeded
  • Identify, track, communicate, and mitigate program risks ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Manage program cost, schedule, performance, staffing, and quality in alignment with contract priorities
  • Identify, evaluate, and integrate emerging technologies, relevant dual use technologies, and commercial off-the-shelf solutions to help remain competitive against our adversaries
  • Collaborate with cross-functional joint-agency teams to define project scope, develop project plans, and manage project execution
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies to keep projects on track
  • Ensure that all project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards
  • Communicate project status, progress, and risks to stakeholders and leadership regularly
  • Continuously improve program management processes and procedures
  • Research and analyze emerging technologies relevant to the technology contract and assess their potential impact and benefits
  • Stay updated with industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities for technology integration
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to evaluate the potential value and viability of adopting new technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, developers, subject matter experts, and mission operators, to gather insights and expertise on new technologies and the effectiveness of currently deployed technologies
  • Engage in strategic partnerships and establish relationships with vendors, suppliers, and technology providers to explore potential collaboration opportunities
  • Monitor and evaluate pilot projects and proof-of-concept initiatives to assess their success and determine scalability and interoperability
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify potential gaps or areas for improvement in the existing technology contract
  • Collaborate with human resources to assess staffing needs and identify additional Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) positions required to support contract requirements
  • Prepare business cases and present recommendations to senior management and stakeholders regarding the adoption of new technologies and the allocation of FTEs
  • Monitor and track the performance of implemented technologies and measure their technology impact
  • Continuously review and update the technology roadmap to align with evolving business goals and changing market dynamics
  • Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the organization, encouraging employees to contribute ideas and suggestions for technology advancements and improved resource allocation


Additional Responsibilities:

 

  • Facilitate collaboration with Government and industry partners to advance the program's goals and objectives
  • Identify and engage with relevant partners to leverage their expertise and resources
  • Develop partnerships and collaborations to support the program's strategic objectives and initiatives. Manage relationships with partners and ensure that deliverables are met.
  • Communicate with partners to provide updates on project status, progress, and outcomes. Work with internal teams to ensure that partners are integrated into the program's operations and decision-making processes.
  • The ability to build strong relationships, collaborate, and communicate effectively with Government customers and stakeholders across the Department of War is essential to the success of the program.

 

Degree/Education and Training Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field.

 

Clearance Requirements

  • Ability to obtain or currently possess a security clearance


Certification Requirements

  • Project Management Professional


Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively

  • Military service or operational experience is a plus


WORKING CONDITIONS 

  • Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC or laptop. Filing required. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 25 lbs. Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone. 
  • General office equipment, which includes: telephone, fax machine, copier, PC/laptop, and other miscellaneous office equipment 
  • Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is mandatory 
  • You may be asked to continue performance during inclement weather or other conditions when others are not permitted to work 
  • Ad-hoc travel may be required 
  • Candidates must exhibit professional behavior that promotes teamwork, fosters cooperation, and enhances productivity in the workplace. Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to work effectively with a variety of government, military and contractor personnel at all levels.  
  • Candidates must be able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Dress code is usually business casual, but dependent on client’s standards. Must not pose a safety hazard.


Estimated Compensation 

  • $205,000 - $215,000


Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to employee's experience, skills, education, industry, location, company size, and overall market demand.

Salary

$205,000 - $215,000 per year
