Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer & Machining Floor Manager to lead our machining operations. This hybrid role combines advanced CNC programming and setup with team supervision on the shop floor. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with 3, 4, and 5-axis milling and turning, while also providing day-to-day leadership to a team of machinists. You’ll be responsible for ensuring production runs smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities


  • Programming & Setup
  • Create and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis mills and lathes using Mastercam and SolidWorks.
  • Design fixtures and tooling for efficient setups of complex components.
  • Lead initial setups for critical jobs, ensuring proper workholding, tooling, and alignment.
  • Standardize processes to reduce setup time and improve consistency.
  • Floor Leadership
  • Supervise daily operations on the machining floor and act as the technical lead for machinists.
  • Assign jobs, monitor progress, and ensure production targets and quality standards are met.
  • Provide training, guidance, and troubleshooting support to machinists as needed.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Quality & Efficiency
  • Oversee inspection of parts using calipers, micrometers, and CMMs.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering drawings and GD&T specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering and leadership to improve machining strategies and shop efficiency.
  • Monitor machine maintenance schedules and ensure proper upkeep.

Qualifications


  • 7+ years of experience in CNC programming, setup, and machining.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a machine shop environment.
  • Proficient in CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, SolidWorks) and G-code programming for milling (including 5 axis) and turning.
  • Strong understanding of precision machining, tooling, feeds/speeds, and materials.
  • Skilled in reading technical drawings and interpreting GD&T.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
