The Community Organizer is an entry-level, part-time position focused on year-round outreach in Latino communities. Most of the work happens in the field — knocking on doors, making phone calls, attending community events, and talking directly with Latino voters and community members. This position is for someone who enjoys meeting people, can start conversations with strangers, and wants to help build Latino civic participation and community power. Currently looking for part-time organizers in the following counties: Summit, Lake, Eagle, Garfield, Delta, Montrose, and Mesa.

Description
Key Responsibilities
- Knock on doors and make phone calls year-round to engage Latino voters and community members.
- Talk with community members about local issues, elections, civic participation, and opportunities to get involved.
- Identify and engage Latino community members at local events, businesses, churches, and other gathering places.
- Build relationships with Latino residents and community leaders.
- Recruit, coach, and support volunteers to participate in organizing and outreach activities.
- Help organize community meetings, events, canvasses, and other local activities.
- Accurately track conversations, contacts, and outreach results in our database.
- Meet weekly outreach and organizing goals.
- Participate in regular team meetings and trainings.
- Support other organizing activities and duties as needed.
Requirements
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Reliable transportation and regular access to a vehicle.
- Comfortable knocking on doors, making phone calls, and talking with people you do not know.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Organized and able to enter and track outreach data accurately.
- Strong communication skills and ability to motivate others.
- Interest in community organizing, civic engagement, and building Latino community power.
- Willing and able to work evenings and weekends.
- This is an in-person position and is not remote.
Schedule
- Community organizing happens when people are available.
- Shifts are in the evening and on weekends.
- Typical shifts will look like 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekends.
- About 20 hrs per week
Salary
$20 - $32 per hour
