Viva Benefits is seeking a highly accomplished full-stack software engineer to join our team as a Technical Advisor. This role will be crucial in advising and collaborating with our leadership, steering the Engineering department, and evaluating the integration of third-party tools to enhance our platform. Our primary tech stack is C# .NET on the backend, React in JS & TS, DynamoDB (moving to PostgreSQL likely), and we deploy to Render with some resources in AWS. Stripe is our billing partner, and we use Plaid for KYC and banking tasks. We interact with our users via Twilio and SendGrid as well.

Technical Advisor

Reporting To: CEO and CTO

Location: Remote  

Term: 2-year term of commitment

Time Commitment:

  • Initial Phase (First 120 days): Dedicate approximately 10 hours per week to intensive collaboration and auditing tasks.
  • Ongoing Support (After 120 days): Transition to a support role with a commitment of less than 10 hours per month.

Compensation

  • $35 - $100/hr, commensurate with experience.
  • Mix of cash and equity available.

📌 Key Responsibilities 

Collaboration with Leadership:

  • Work closely with our leadership to provide strategic technical guidance and support.
  • Lead the planning and execution of the company’s technology roadmap. Rolling your sleeves up and writing code when needed.
  • Be the go-to person for questions about the Engineering department.

Integration of Third-Party Tools:

  • Evaluate the suitability and potential integration of third-party tools such as CRM and data visualization tools.
  • Develop strategies for seamless integration of these tools into our existing systems.

Support and Guidance:

  • Provide ongoing support and technical advice, transitioning to a more supportive role after the initial 120 days.
  • Ensure the team remains aligned with industry best practices and emerging technologies.

  • Proven experience as a full-stack software engineer with a track record of successful projects.
  • Strong understanding of various technology stacks and architectures.
  • Expertise in auditing and optimizing tech stacks.
  • Experience with integrating third-party tools and services.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
