Senior Eyewear Designer

About VITURE

Founded by Google & Apple alumni, VITURE is determined to become the entrance to the future world.

Description

Who We Are

VITURE is the #1 XR glasses brand in the US — and we got here in just four years, making us the fastest-growing startup in smart glasses. Now we're building what comes next: the first great AI interface you wear, not hold. We blend spatial computing, real-time AI, and beautiful industrial design into intelligent eyewear you'd actually want to wear every day.

Our mission: build the future of wearable intelligence — technology that feels personal, intuitive, and indispensable. We're a cross-disciplinary team shipping at the intersection of hardware, software, and AI.

Ideal Candidate

We're looking for an experienced Eyewear Designer to define the physical form of VITURE's next-generation intelligent eyewear. This is a rare role at the intersection of luxury fashion, industrial design, and advanced technology — where the goal isn't to build another gadget, but to create something beautiful, wearable, and desirable enough that people reach for it every morning. If you've shaped iconic eyewear at a world-class fashion house or luxury brand, and you're ready to bring that craft to the frontier of AI-powered wearables, we'd love to hear from you.

Why This Role Matters

The smart glasses race is on. The most successful products have been designed to be desirable as accessories first, and with smart technologies second.

VITURE's next chapter demands the same — and more. We need a designer who thinks in silhouettes, materials, and brand DNA, not just engineering tolerances.

Role Description

This is a full-time,role based in Cupertino, CA. As our Eyewear Designer, you will own the physical design language for VITURE's intelligent eyewear product line — from initial concept sketching and material exploration through prototyping, DFM (Design for Manufacturing), and final production. You will be the guardian of desirability: ensuring every product looks, feels, and wears like it belongs in the world's best optical shops, not a tech expo. You'll partner closely with optical engineers, mechanical engineers, product managers, and our brand team to translate VITURE's vision into wearable form.

Responsibilities

  • Define the design language for VITURE's intelligent eyewear: frame silhouettes, proportions, surface finishes, colorways, and material palettes that establish a distinctive, premium brand identity.
  • Lead end-to-end physical design from mood boards and concept sketches, through 3D modeling, rapid prototyping, and final production-ready specifications.
  • Balance fashion and technology: integrate complex hardware components (displays, cameras, sensors, batteries, PCBs) into frames that remain lightweight, comfortable, and visually indistinguishable from premium fashion eyewear.
  • Champion ergonomics and wearability: design for diverse face geometries, all-day comfort, and prescription lens compatibility — ensuring the product passes the "would I actually wear this?" test.
  • Develop and maintain a scalable design system across product lines (e.g., lifestyle, performance, fashion-forward), with consistent brand DNA and variation for different market segments.
  • Material innovation: research and specify advanced frame materials (acetate, titanium, bio-based polymers, lightweight alloys), hinges, nose pads, and temple designs that push the boundary of what's possible in smart eyewear form factors.
  • Collaborate with engineering to ensure designs meet optical, thermal, antenna, and structural requirements while preserving design intent. Own the DFM dialogue with manufacturing partners.
  • Create trend-aware, culturally resonant designs informed by fashion cycles, luxury eyewear trends, streetwear culture, and consumer insights.
  • Build and present compelling design narratives — from concept pitch to executive review — that articulate how form serves both brand story and user need.
  • Stay at the frontier of the smart eyewear landscape, tracking competitors (Meta × Ray-Ban, Google × Gentle Monster/Warby Parker, Apple) and luxury eyewear trends to ensure VITURE leads on desirability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Fashion Design, or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional eyewear design experience, with a significant portion at a recognized luxury or premium eyewear brand (e.g., LVMH/Thélios, EssilorLuxottica, Chrome Hearts, Gentle Monster, Oliver Peoples, ic! berlin, MYKITA, or equivalent fashion house with eyewear lines).
  • Outstanding portfolio demonstrating mastery of eyewear form, proportion, material, and detailing — with shipped products in the market.
  • Expert proficiency in Rhino, SolidWorks, Alias, or equivalent 3D CAD, plus rendering tools (KeyShot, V-Ray, or similar).
  • Deep knowledge of eyewear manufacturing processes: injection molding, CNC milling, hand-finishing, acetate sheet cutting, metal forming, and hinge mechanisms.
  • Strong understanding of facial ergonomics, optical lens fitment, and fit-testing methodologies.
  • Proven ability to work within tight engineering constraints while maintaining design excellence — the "magic" of making complex technology disappear into beautiful form.
  • Excellent visual communication skills: sketching, presentation boards, physical mockups, and storytelling.

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing smart eyewear or wearable technology products (e.g., smart glasses, AR glasses, HMDs) — understanding the unique constraints of integrating electronics into head-worn form factors.
  • Background in or deep appreciation for luxury fashion, with a network in the luxury/fashion design community.
  • Familiarity with color, material, and finish (CMF) strategy for consumer electronics.
  • Experience collaborating with ODM/OEM eyewear manufacturers in Italy, Japan, or China.
  • Understanding of optics, display technology, or miniaturized electronics as they relate to eyewear form factor.
  • Prior work at the intersection of fashion and technology (e.g., smart watches, wearable accessories, connected jewelry).

What We Offer

  • Define and build the next-generation AI glasses platform — a front-row seat to shaping how people interact with wearable intelligence
  • An AI Native working environment — AI is deeply integrated into our workflows, tools, and product development, so you work alongside cutting-edge AI every day, not just build it
  • A sharp, full-stack team that thinks from first principles and ships with speed
  • Competitive compensation package including base salary ($165K–$210K), discretionary bonus, and equity — with total compensation determined by candidate level, experience, and qualifications. Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match.
  • Flexible schedule, PTO, sick leave, and parental leave
  • Collaborative, inclusive, design-driven culture
