About the Role:

As a Relief Veterinary Assistant or CVT at VVH, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our patients during busy periods. You'll provide direct patient care, assist with medical documentation, and contribute to a smooth workflow within our fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care:
  • Provide gentle handling and comfort measures for animals.
  • Assist with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Monitor patient vitals and behavior.
  • Assist with post-surgical care.


  • Client Communication:
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically with clients.
  • Answer questions and address concerns.
  • Obtain medical histories and present estimates.
  • Hospital Operations:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
  • Assist with laboratory procedures and radiology as needed.
  • Ensure a clean and sterile environment.
  • Utilize computer software effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a veterinary assistant or CVT.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and effectively.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to manage stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures, and terminology.
  • Proficient in computer software (e.g., veterinary practice management systems).
  • Flexible and reliable with availability to work one shift per month.
