Job Description

Viking Veterinary Hospital (VVH) seeks a compassionate and experienced Part-Time Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team! In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the health and well-being of our furry friends, working alongside veterinarians and other technicians to provide exceptional medical care.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, procedures, and surgeries.
  • Perform diagnostic tests such as blood work, radiographs, and cytology.
  • Provide nursing care to hospitalized animals.
  • Manage animal medications and treatments.
  • Maintain a clean and sterile work environment.
  • Effectively communicate with clients about pet care instructions.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent experience. Appreciated, but not required.
  • Strong working knowledge of veterinary medicine and surgical procedures.
  • Excellent compassion for animals and a commitment to their well-being.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in computer software used in veterinary practices (a plus).
