RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct thorough research to gather technical documentation, product specifications, publicly available software libraries (including open source), relevant standardization documentation, and implementation details of products and services offered by implementers of potential use cases and areas relevant to VideoLabs’ business.
- Analyze and maintain collected data to support identification of potential use cases and areas of interest relevant to VideoLabs’ business.
- Collaborate with the intellectual property and legal teams to support the presentation of findings and conclusions relevant to potential use cases.
- Maintain organized records of research findings and ensure accessibility for relevant stakeholders.
- Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements relevant to VideoLabs’ focus areas, including cutting-edge research trends, current developments related to standardization of technologies, and product road maps for the implementation of next generation technologies in the marketplace.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to interpret complex technical information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with intellectual property concepts and patent analysis is a plus.
- Self-motivated with strong problem solving skills, the ability to work independently, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Strong organizational skills, e.g., maintaining attention to detail on multiple projects simultaneously, and the ability to adjust to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability and desire to work collaboratively on a team
- Languages: Fluent English is essential.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience with data analysis tools and methodologies, including the latest Artificial Intelligence models.
- Knowledge broadly in the end-to-end video technology ecosystem and related products, including content distribution networks, codecs, and cloud computing/virtualization.
- Understanding of complex technical concepts, particularly in the fields of video streaming, consumer electronics, computer hardware and software, and cloud services and infrastructure.
- Basic understanding of software development concepts
- Experience with programming in a general-purpose language such as Python
- Experience with web or content scraping tools
