About the Role

As a Veterinary Oncology Technician, you'll play a central role in delivering high-quality cancer care, from chemotherapy administration and diagnostics to supporting clients through one of the most difficult journeys they'll face with their pet. This is a fast-paced, emotionally rewarding role for someone who thrives on both veterinary medicine and human connection.

What You'll Do

• Place and monitor IV catheters and administer chemotherapy under veterinarian direction, following strict safety protocols for hazardous drug handling
• Monitor patients during and after treatment for adverse reactions and manage supportive care (anti-nausea medication, pain management, etc.)
• Draw blood, perform radiographs, assist with ultrasounds
• Prepare diagnostic samples for cytology and histopathology
• Calculate precise drug dosages based on body surface area
• Maintain detailed and accurate treatment records
• Educate and support clients through treatment protocols, side effects, and home care with empathy and clarity
• Coordinate multi-week or multi-month treatment schedules
• Assist with palliative and hospice care planning as needed

What We're Looking For

• Active veterinary technician license (CVT/RVT/LVT) preferred — candidates without active licensure will be considered with a minimum of 2 years of veterinary experience
• Strong IV catheter placement and venipuncture skills
• Comfort with chemotherapy administration and hazardous drug safety protocols (training will be provided)
• Excellent communication skills, especially with clients navigating a difficult diagnosis
• Meticulous attention to detail, particularly around dosing and recordkeeping
• Ability to stay calm and organized in a fast-paced clinical environment
• A compassionate, resilient approach to emotionally demanding cases
