JOB DESCRIPTION


POSITION TITLE:  Corporate Controller  


LOCATION:  Remote / Travel to Montana


FLSA STATUS: Exempt


Reports to Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer


CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION:  The Corporate Controller oversees all aspects of Venture Medical, LLC’s accounting operations, including financial reporting, internal controls, cash management, and compliance. This role ensures the integrity of financial information by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing accounting policies and procedures. The Corporate Controller provides strategic insight to maximize profitability, mitigate risk, and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

·      Ensure accurate and timely completion of all financial transactions, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank deposits, and credit card reconciliations.

·      Manage the finances of multiple legal entities and consolidation.

·      Implement, document, monitor, and update accounting policies and procedures in alignment with GAAP and company goals.

·      Oversee and maintain accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite) and recommend improvements to optimize reporting and efficiency.

·      Oversee external accountants, auditors, and tax preparers, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all filings and reports.

·      Prepare, analyze, and review quarterly and annual budgets and forecasts with the Executive Team.

·      Develop and prepare financial and KPI reports; analyze costs, margins, and profitability.

·      Perform internal audits and assist with external audits.

·      Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal reporting and filing requirements.

·      Develop and maintain risk assessment models to evaluate investments and support strategic business decisions.

·      Manage cash flow, investments, and liquidity.

·      Coordinate and manage annual tax reporting with external CPAs.

·      Report regularly on financial status and provide ad hoc analyses as needed.

·      Maintain organized, accurate, and auditable filing systems.

·      Lead and mentor accounting staff to ensure high performance and accountability.

·      Other duties as assigned.


RELATED DUTIES:

·      Collaborate with the Relationship Managers, Sales, Human Resources, and Systems Development departments on related projects. 

·      Perform some basic accounting functions while Staff Accountant position is being filled.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Training and Experience

·      Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role.

·      Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

·      CPA required.


Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

·      In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and fiscal procedures.

·      Hands-on experience with general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliations.

·      Proficiency in NetSuite or similar accounting platform; experience with CRM systems (Salesforce or Zoho) preferred.

·      Experience with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) company practices preferred.

·      Strong understanding of accrual-based accounting and month-end close procedures.

·      Proficiency in risk assessment, financial modeling, and investment analysis.

·      Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI or similar analytics tools.

·      Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills, with high attention to detail.

·      Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

·      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative leadership style.

·      Impeccable business ethics and confidentiality in financial handling.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

·      Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

·      Manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment.


Working Conditions


Travel required to Missoula, MT frequently. Ideal candidate located within driving distance or willingness to relocate to surrounding area.

$175,000 - $195,000 per year
