JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Corporate Accounting Manager
LOCATION: Missoula, MT / Remote
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
Reports to Corporate Controller
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION: The Corporate Accounting Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the integrity and efficiency of Venture Medical’s accounting operations. This position is responsible for managing core accounting functions, streamlining financial workflows, and mentoring team members while ensuring alignment with company growth and regulatory compliance. This role demands deep expertise in NetSuite and a preferred working knowledge of Zoho Books.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Support the Corporate Controller in evaluating and improving accounting workflows and pursuing high-impact projects that enhance department effectiveness.
· Supervise and mentor accounting team members, setting annual objectives, providing regular feedback, and promoting professional development.
· Address and manage personnel issues, including absenteeism, performance concerns, and team dynamics.
· Ensure the timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, in collaboration with the operations and sales teams.
· Develop and implement accounting policies, controls, and procedures to support a high-performing, scalable team.
· Review and validate financial statements and reports for accuracy and compliance with GAAP and internal standards.
· Monitor daily accounting operations and continuously assess areas for automation or process improvement.
· Serve as a key point of contact for the Controller and executive leadership for financial and operational insights.
· Train and guide team members on complex and non-routine financial reporting transactions.
· Lead efforts to ensure department compliance with reporting deadlines, audit requests, and internal control requirements.
· Leverage NetSuite functionality to its fullest potential and integrate enhancements or modules that increase efficiency.
· Maintain a working knowledge of Zoho Books, particularly for cross-functional processes and reporting.
· Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Sales, Operations, Human Resources, etc.) to align financial reporting with business needs.
· Other duties as assigned.
RELATED DUTIES:
· Support cross-functional integration efforts with sales, operations, and logistics for streamlined accounting practices.
· Assist with onboarding new systems or software platforms that interact with financial data.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Training and Experience
· 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a management or supervisory capacity.
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred but not required.
· Demonstrated experience with NetSuite (required); Zoho Books experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
· In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
· Ability to lead, coach, and develop a team in a high-growth environment.
· Proficiency in process automation and financial systems optimization.
· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
· High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
· Comfortable working across multiple departments and managing competing deadlines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Occasional travel may be required for team meetings or audits.
