Description

About VBA

Venture Beyond Aspirations (VBA) helps businesses build, run, and grow through technology, software, creative services, education, and practical business resources.

Our approach is simple:

BUILD. RUN. GROW.

We believe great technology and business resources should not be reserved for large companies. VBA works to make practical tools, technology, and support more accessible to entrepreneurs and growing businesses.

Our ecosystem includes software platforms, creative solutions, business resources, education, and services designed around what businesses actually need.

Purpose: Turn ambition into something real.

Mission: Build what businesses need to move forward.

Vision: Great technology shouldn't be reserved for big businesses.

Framework: BUILD. RUN. GROW.

Motto: Dream Bold. Launch Smart. Grow Strong.

About the Role

VBA is looking for a creative, outgoing, and organized Marketing & Content Coordinator to help more people discover who we are, what we do, and how we can help.

This is an entry-level, part-time position designed for someone who wants hands-on experience in marketing, content creation, community outreach, brand development, and small-business technology.

This is not a traditional desk-only marketing position.

Some work can be completed remotely, including editing content, scheduling posts, researching opportunities, planning campaigns, and reviewing performance.

However, this position is based in the St. Louis area because we also want this person to get into the community.

The Marketing & Content Coordinator may attend local business events, meet entrepreneurs, interview business owners, capture content, promote VBA programs and software grants, and introduce VBA to organizations and communities that may benefit from what we offer.

The overall responsibility of this position is simple:

Help more people know VBA exists.

The coordinator will work with VBA leadership on messaging, priorities, campaigns, and overall direction while taking ownership of the day-to-day execution needed to keep VBA visible and active.

What You'll Do

Content Creation

Create engaging content that helps people understand VBA, entrepreneurship, business technology, and the resources available to small businesses.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Creating social media posts, graphics, captions, short-form videos, and other digital content.
  • Recording and editing Reels, TikToks, Shorts, interviews, product demonstrations, and behind-the-scenes content.
  • Capturing photos and video at VBA activities, community events, interviews, meetings, and approved client activities.
  • Turning company updates, customer questions, business tips, product information, and conversations into useful content.
  • Creating educational content that provides value even when VBA is not directly promoting a product.
  • Helping tell the stories of entrepreneurs, businesses, customers, employees, and community partners.
  • Creating content around common challenges faced by small businesses.
  • Maintaining VBA's brand standards, voice, values, and messaging.

Content Scheduling & Management

Help VBA maintain a consistent marketing presence rather than only posting when something happens.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Maintaining a weekly and monthly content calendar.
  • Scheduling approved content across VBA's selected social media platforms.
  • Planning content ahead of time.
  • Organizing photos, videos, graphics, interview footage, and other marketing assets.
  • Monitoring upcoming campaigns, events, launches, and company announcements.
  • Repurposing existing content instead of always starting from scratch.
  • Helping maintain consistent messaging across VBA and its brands.

Community Outreach & Brand Awareness

A major part of this position is helping VBA become more visible within the St. Louis business and entrepreneurial community.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Researching free and low-cost networking events, small-business workshops, entrepreneur meetups, community programs, career events, conferences, and other relevant opportunities.
  • Maintaining a list of upcoming events and outreach opportunities.
  • Recommending events where VBA should have a presence.
  • Attending approved events as a representative of VBA.
  • Introducing VBA to entrepreneurs, small-business owners, organizations, community leaders, and potential partners.
  • Having genuine conversations about the challenges businesses are experiencing.
  • Sharing information about VBA's resources, software, services, programs, and opportunities when appropriate.
  • Identifying potential partnerships and collaborations.
  • Identifying potential podcast guests, interview opportunities, customer stories, and community features.
  • Building relationships throughout the St. Louis business community.
  • Following up appropriately with individuals and organizations that express interest in VBA.
  • Making sure potential opportunities are routed to the appropriate VBA team member.

The goal of outreach is not to pressure someone into buying something.

The goal is to build awareness, relationships, trust, and opportunities.

Software Grant & Program Awareness

VBA may offer software grants, assistance programs, special initiatives, and other opportunities designed to help businesses gain access to technology and resources.

The Marketing & Content Coordinator will help increase awareness of these opportunities.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Learning about currently available VBA software grants and programs.
  • Creating approved content explaining these opportunities.
  • Promoting programs through social media and community outreach.
  • Identifying businesses, organizations, schools, entrepreneurs, and communities that may benefit from knowing about available programs.
  • Sharing approved program information at events and during outreach conversations.
  • Helping direct interested applicants to the correct website, application, assessment, or VBA team member.
  • Helping promote application deadlines and program updates.
  • Tracking interest generated through marketing and outreach.

The Marketing & Content Coordinator does not determine eligibility or approve applications.

The coordinator may never guarantee someone a grant, discount, sponsorship, partnership, or special pricing.

Business Navigator Awareness

The Marketing & Content Coordinator may help introduce businesses to VBA's Business Navigator and other resources designed to help businesses better understand what they need.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Creating content around common business challenges.
  • Promoting the Business Navigator when appropriate.
  • Encouraging business owners to explore their needs before selecting a product.
  • Introducing the Business Navigator during approved events and outreach efforts.
  • Helping leadership identify recurring questions and challenges heard from businesses in the community.
  • Creating content based on common challenges identified through outreach.

The Business Navigator should be positioned as a resource for helping businesses identify their needs—not simply as a way to push someone toward a particular VBA product.

Podcast, Interviews & Storytelling

Help VBA create more original content by highlighting real people, businesses, and conversations.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with VBA Vision content when needed.
  • Helping capture podcast footage.
  • Identifying strong moments from podcast episodes.
  • Turning longer conversations into short-form clips.
  • Creating quotes, graphics, captions, and educational content from interviews.
  • Helping identify potential podcast guests.
  • Interviewing entrepreneurs and small-business owners.
  • Capturing community stories.
  • Asking business owners about their experiences, challenges, lessons learned, and goals.
  • Helping VBA highlight the people and businesses making an impact in the community.

We want VBA's content to include real stories—not just advertisements.

Product & Solution Awareness

The Marketing & Content Coordinator will learn enough about VBA's ecosystem to explain our solutions in simple, customer-friendly language.

VBA's ecosystem may include solutions such as:

  • Venovax
  • Kreadiv
  • Kreadiv Next
  • VBA Core
  • Business Navigator
  • Other future VBA products, platforms, programs, or services

The coordinator is not expected to become a technical expert in every product.

The expectation is to understand three basic questions:

What problem does this solve?

Who could it help?

When is it appropriate to talk about it?

The coordinator should never recommend a VBA product simply because VBA sells it.

Our Marketing Philosophy

VBA does not believe in forcing products on people.

Marketing should begin with understanding the person, business, and problem.

Our approach is:

Problem → Education → Helpful Solution → Trust → Opportunity

Not:

Product → Product → Product → Buy Now

Sometimes a VBA product may be the right solution.

Sometimes a VBA service may make sense.

Sometimes a free VBA resource may be enough.

Sometimes another tool or resource may be more appropriate.

Our goal is to build trust by being useful.

The Marketing & Content Coordinator is expected to follow this philosophy in content, conversations, outreach, events, interviews, and community interactions.

Lead & Opportunity Support

The Marketing & Content Coordinator helps create the top of VBA's business pipeline.

This may include generating:

  • Website inquiries
  • Business Navigator activity
  • Software grant inquiries
  • Demo requests
  • Consultation requests
  • Event-generated leads
  • Referral opportunities
  • Partnership opportunities
  • Podcast or content relationships
  • Businesses interested in learning more about VBA

When someone expresses genuine interest, the coordinator should capture the appropriate information and route the opportunity to the correct VBA team member.

The coordinator may also follow up with contacts using approved messaging and processes.

This Is Not a Sales Position

This position supports business growth, but it is not a commissioned sales role.

The Marketing & Content Coordinator is not responsible for independently closing customers.

The coordinator will not be expected to:

  • Pressure people into purchasing VBA products.
  • Negotiate contracts.
  • Independently change pricing.
  • Promise discounts.
  • Guarantee software grants.
  • Guarantee partnerships or sponsorships.
  • Make commitments on behalf of VBA without authorization.

The coordinator's responsibility is to help create:

Awareness → Interest → Engagement → Opportunity

When someone is ready for a deeper conversation, the coordinator should connect them with the appropriate VBA team member.

Marketing Performance & Reporting

VBA wants to understand what marketing activities are actually working.

The Marketing & Content Coordinator may help track:

  • Content published
  • Short-form videos produced
  • Content reach
  • Video views
  • Engagement
  • Website traffic
  • Business Navigator activity
  • Software grant inquiries
  • Events attended
  • New community connections
  • Leads generated
  • Demo or consultation requests
  • Referral opportunities
  • Partnerships or collaborations generated through outreach
  • Campaign performance
  • Other relevant marketing activity

The coordinator may provide a simple monthly summary explaining:

  • What worked
  • What did not
  • What people responded to
  • Common business questions or challenges being heard
  • What should be tested next

Success will not be measured solely by followers, likes, or direct sales.

Location & Transportation

This position is based in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

The role is hybrid and field-based.

Some responsibilities may be completed remotely, while other assignments may require attendance at approved events, interviews, content shoots, meetings, client locations, or community activities throughout the St. Louis area.

Reliable transportation is required for assignments that require local travel.

Approved business travel may be reimbursed according to VBA's mileage and travel policies.

Normal commuting is not considered business travel.

Schedule

This position works up to 8 hours per week.

The schedule may vary depending on:

  • Marketing priorities
  • Content opportunities
  • Community events
  • Interviews
  • Campaigns
  • Business needs

For example, one week may primarily involve editing and scheduling content from home.

Another week may include several hours at a community event or conducting interviews.

Some approved evening or weekend events may occasionally be required.

Because hours are limited, priorities will be established with the employee so they are not expected to complete every possible marketing activity every week.

All working hours must be properly recorded.

First 90 Days

The first 90 days will focus on helping the coordinator learn VBA while establishing a consistent marketing and outreach rhythm.

Initial priorities may include:

  • Learning VBA's purpose, mission, values, framework, products, and programs.

  • Promoting approved software grant and program opportunities.
  • Capturing original community and business content.
  • Helping increase Business Navigator awareness.
  • Establishing basic marketing and outreach tracking.

Performance will be reviewed throughout the first 90 days based on areas including content consistency, community outreach, relationship building, program awareness, content quality, lead contribution, reliability, initiative, and professional representation of VBA.

Growth Opportunity

This position is intended to be an entry point into VBA's growing marketing function.

A successful employee may have opportunities to develop into roles such as:

Marketing & Content Coordinator

Marketing Specialist

Community or Growth Marketing Specialist

Marketing Manager

Additional opportunities will depend on performance, organizational needs, available responsibilities, and VBA's continued growth.

Why This Role Matters

VBA is still building.

That means this position offers something different from joining a large company where every marketing process has already been established.

You'll have an opportunity to help shape how VBA tells its story, connects with its community, introduces technology, supports entrepreneurs, promotes business opportunities, and builds its presence throughout St. Louis.

One day you may create content from home.

Another day you may interview a local entrepreneur.

You might attend a small-business event, capture a story, promote a software grant, help someone discover the Business Navigator, or introduce a business owner to a resource they didn't know existed.

We are looking for someone who wants to learn marketing by actually doing marketing and who is excited about helping more people discover what VBA can offer.

If you're creative, curious, comfortable meeting people, and interested in helping businesses move forward, we'd like to hear from you.
