About The Role:
We have an extraordinary opportunity for someone to join our team in the Dallas office as the Legal Assistant to the Managing Partner. This role is perfect for an experienced legal assistant with an authentic desire to work with startups and in the venture capital industry, or for a recent college graduate who would like two to three years of intense law firm experience before going to law school.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Document Drafting and Management: Draft, format, file, execute, and document distribution
- Facilitate Venture Financings: Draft relevant documents, create signature packets, track and organize document collection
- Work with online venture financing related software programs to manage client records and deals
- Organize and maintain electronic filing systems, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily retrievable
- Maintain professional and confidential interactions
- Administrative Support: Assist Managing Partner with general office tasks, including managing calendars and deadlines, scheduling meetings, and coordinating with other departments as needed
- Perform additional tasks to achieve department goals and objectives
Basic Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational skills necessary to efficiently manage files, calendars, and travel
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, and court personnel
- Strong multitasking, planning, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks without direct supervision
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and display flexibility in a fast paced and changing work environment
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality
- Technical Proficiency: Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and DocuSign
- Fluency in web based applications and internet research
- Strong technical skills needed to prepare and edit legal documents and handle filings with proficiency
- A genuine interest in the venture capital industry and working with startups
