About The Role:

We currently have an opportunity for a summer intern who will support key IT initiatives, particularly implementing our new asset management software (Cheqroom), while assisting with other critical projects.


Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Systems implementation: Play an active part in Cheqroom Setup & Management, including implementing, tagging assets, ensuring optimal utilization, and creating user guides.
  • IT Asset Audit:  Assist the IT manager to conduct a comprehensive inventory assessment, track missing/outdated equipment, and improve accountability.
  • Network & Security Support: Review EDR setup, troubleshoot blocking issues, and research security best practices. 
  • Helpdesk Assistance: Provide first-level IT support and document/troubleshoot common issues.
  • Technology Planning & Systems Health Check: Assist the IT manager in long-term IT strategy, policy documentation, and infrastructure assessment.


Key outcomes:

  • Reduces workload on Procurement and IT Manager.
  • Provides fresh perspectives and research.
  • Improves IT efficiency with minimal cost.
  • This temporary role will enhance our IT operations and long-term planning. 



Basic Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of IT systems, hardware, and software troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and security best practices.
  • Strong communication skills for documenting issues and assisting users.
  • Willingness to learn and assist with IT asset management, system setup, and helpdesk support.
