As we expand, we are seeking skilled Telecommunications Technicians to join our team and support mission-critical communications infrastructure. We are looking for a highly motivated Telecommunications Technician with experience in testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining communication systems used in power utilities. The successful candidate will work on the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of telecommunications systems that support power transmission and distribution networks.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, test, and maintain SCADA, microwave radio, fiber optic, powerline carrier, communication-aided tripping, and remedial action schemes (RAS) systems.
  • Perform system troubleshooting, fault isolation, and repairs to ensure operational integrity.
  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Work with engineers and project teams to commission and integrate communication systems into power utility networks.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company procedures.
  • Document test results, system configurations, and maintenance activities.
  • Assist in network upgrades and enhancements to improve performance and reliability.
  • Travel to project sites as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or certification in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with SCADA, microwave radio, fiber optics, powerline carrier, and communication-aided tripping systems is highly preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with knowledge of test equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Familiarity with power utility communication standards and protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in field environments.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Willingness to travel and work in remote locations as needed.
