Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise field technicians on electrical testing, maintenance, and commissioning projects (low, medium, and high voltage systems).
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and within scope.
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for clients, providing updates and technical guidance.
  • Perform advanced testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostics on electrical equipment including:
  • Switchgear and circuit breakers
  • Power transformers
  • Protection and control systems (relays)
  • Cables and rotating equipment
  • Interpret drawings, schematics, and specifications to guide field work.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable standards (NETA, IEEE, ANSI, OSHA, NFPA 70E, etc.).
  • Review and approve field reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
  • Mentor and develop junior technicians, promoting technical growth and safe work practices.
  • Coordinate logistics, materials, and equipment required for project execution.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for additional work or scope changes.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • NETA Level III or IV Certification (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 7+ years of hands-on field experience in electrical testing, maintenance, and commissioning.
  • Demonstrated experience leading crews and running projects independently.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical power systems (480V through EHV).
  • Proficiency in testing methods such as:
  • Insulation resistance, power factor, and Doble testing
  • Transformer testing (TTR, winding resistance, etc.)
  • Relay testing (electromechanical and microprocessor-based)
  • Cable testing (VLF, Tan Delta, HiPot)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documents.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of work.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
