Comptons Coffee House is a small, locally owned and operated chain of cafes located in some of San Francisco's most popular neighborhoods.
We serve specialty coffee and tea, along with delicious pastries delivered daily by a wonderful local bakery. What makes us unique is how hard we work to make a strong connection with each and every person that visits our cafes. With selectively sourced products and house made syrups, we believe that the quality of our beverages speak for themselves, but were constantly evaluating our systems and process to ensure that were delivering the best experience for both our teams and customers.

Founded in 2021, we opened our 2nd location in September 2023, followed by our newest in October 2026.

The Role

As a Barista at Compton's Coffee, you will be the face of our coffee shop, responsible for crafting delicious beverages and providing excellent customer service. You will work in a dynamic environment, ensuring that every customer leaves with a smile and a great cup of coffee.

What You'll Do

- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and standards.

- Provide friendly and efficient service to all customers, ensuring a positive experience.

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee shop, including workstations and customer areas.

- Operate coffee-making equipment and maintain it in good working condition.

- Handle cash and process transactions accurately.

- Engage with customers to understand their preferences and make recommendations.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.

What We're Looking For

- Previous experience in a barista or customer service role is preferred.

- Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

- Basic math skills for handling cash and transactions.

- A passion for coffee and a willingness to learn about different brewing techniques.

Nice to Have

- Knowledge of coffee brewing methods and equipment.

- Experience with point-of-sale systems.

- Barista certification or training from a recognized program.

- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
