US Workers Billing is headquartered in Ann Arbor, MI. We are looking for a full-time Medical Billing Specialist. The position is Hybrid with a requirement of 2 days in our Ann Arbor Office. What You'll Do 


Claims Processing


Review incoming prescriptions and supporting medical documentation.

Verify patient demographics and insurance information.

Accurately enter patient and billing information into multiple software systems.

Prepare and submit medical claims using appropriate HCPCS and ICD-10 coding.


Revenue Cycle Management


  • Monitor claims through the reimbursement process.
  • Investigate and resolve billing issues.
  • Research, prepare, and submit appeals for denied claims.
  • Audit documentation to ensure claims are complete and compliant before submission.
  • Collect and review referrals and prior authorizations by communicating with nurse case managers and insurance adjusters.


Customer Service


  • Handle inbound and outbound calls with insurance carriers and payers.
  • Respond to inquiries via phone, fax, and email.
  • Accurately document all communications and claim activity.


Team Collaboration


  • Partner with team members to improve workflows and operational efficiencies.
  • Maintain compliance with payer guidelines and state and federal regulations.

What You'll Bring 


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of medical billing experience preferred.
  • Workers' compensation billing experience is a plus.
  • Experience with medical claims, denials, and appeals preferred.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and HCPCS coding preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn multiple software systems.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to continuous improvement.

Salary

$45,000 - $50,000 per year
