Carver Christian Academy is a K-5 Christ-centered private school that serves the Tamarind Avenue corridor of West Palm Beach, Florida. Job Duties:
- Administer and interpret diagnostic and formative assessment data to make ongoing instructional decisions
- Prepare and implement evidence-based reading interventions in and outside of the classroom which will include pushing into the classroom and pulling students out for one on one interventions
- Create, organize, and maintain an intervention schedule to maximize time and number of students served
- Provide ongoing progress monitoring and adjust interventions based on students' response
- Design resources that meet the needs of a diverse student population
- Provide explicit, systematic, and multisensory interventions effectively to struggling readers
- Collaborate with teachers on a regular basis to share data and students' response to interventions in order to ensure alignment of the intervention to core instruction
- Communicate with parents and teachers to provide detailed documentation of interventions and student progress
- Collaborate with multiple teams regarding student needs to establish appropriate interventions and supports
- Utilize a variety of multisensory techniques to meet the needs of all learners
- Oversee and directly perform all literacy and math assessments throughout the year
- Track and develop literacy data and numbers for tracking and marketing purposes
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key Traits:
- Knowledge and understanding of the developmental progression of a reader
- Ability to teach phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, and word study to students
- Knowledge and understanding of tiers of support and the Multi-Tiered System of Supports process
- Possess strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, orally and in writing, including electronic media
- Operating knowledge of computer programs, including email, work processing, spreadsheets, and databases
- Excellent time management skills and ability to organize, prioritize, manage and carry out duties efficiently and within established timeframes
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders
Position period: 10-month position from July 21st, 2025 - May 30th, 2026
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; Three years of K-5 classroom teaching experience is preferred; Must have a valid reading certificate or be in the process of obtaining one.
40-hours per week, FLSA exempt position, reporting to the School Principal.
