OVERVIEW

We are looking for a friendly and professional Guest Services Host to be the welcoming face of the hotel. As a Guest Services Host, you will be responsible for greeting and assisting visitors, answering phone calls, and managing guest inquiries and reservations. Your exceptional communication and customer service skills will ensure a positive first impression and smooth operations at our front desk.

Guest Services Manager and General Manager

SALARY + HOURS EXPECTATIONS

• $19- $21.00/ HOUR
• 20-30 hours weekly
• Weekday and weekend availability required 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet and check-in arriving hotel guests.
• Set-up and breakdown of coffee bar/ breakfast for in-house guests.
• Clean and maintain public areas, such as the lobby, hallways, and restrooms.
• Assist guests with special requests in a courteous and helpful manner.
• Maintain ambience throughout the day parts (lighting/music/etc)
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Hotel General Manager.
• Report any guest issues with the Guest Services Manager promptly.
• Assist with light housekeeping and laundry when applicable, as directed by the Director of Housekeeping.
• Perform deep cleaning tasks as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with guests in a courteous, professional, and friendly manner. 
• Ability to handle guest inquiries and concerns with empathy and discretion while maintaining a positive and welcoming attitude.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• General computer skills. (Previous PMS knowledge preferred, but not required)
• Ability to handle physical workload, including bending, stooping, and lifting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Carry out all tasks with an attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety while maintaining an enjoyable and clean environment for guests and team.
• Ability to multitask. 
• Work efficiently and maintain a reasonable pace of service at all times.
• Fill in for absent staff as needed, assist with special events as needed.
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
• Ability to honor your schedule, show up on time and clock in and out, put in requests for time off with appropriate notice.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal communication skills as well as nonverbal communications in a fast paced environment. 
• Ability to work independently and efficiently with attention to detail.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to handle physical workload, including bending, stooping, and lifting for up to 75% of your scheduled shift.
• Ability to stand for 100% of your scheduled shift.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, maneuver in narrow hallways, up and down small stairways and behind the bar. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Physically strenuous, standing, lifting, kneeling, stooping, walking and stair climbing throughout the entire shift. 
• Loud environment with low lighting in some areas and bright lights in others. 
• No driving required.
