Are you the one to build out UpContent’s outbound sales engine?

We’re looking for a creative, driven, and resilient business development representative to join our growing team as the owner of our outbound direct sales initiatives. Your goal will be to help us identify prospects and qualify leads to drive direct sales and further position as the leader in content curation.

Our BDR must have a passion for problem-solving and building relationships with a consultant’s mindset, as well as an obsession with customer success.


  • Build and manage your own sales pipeline
  • Manage sales leads from identification and initial contact through close
  • Carefully tracking and actioning leads across the sales cycle
  • Qualify and follow up on sales leads
  • Outbound calling and prospecting via email and LinkedIn
  • Use your rapport with clients to achieve appointments
  • Collaborate with UpContent Content Manager in the identification of content areas that would remove friction in the sales process
  • Update and manage communications in the HubSpot CRM system

Educational background

A degree in sales, marketing, business, or information technology is highly preferred but not mandatory. Commensurate experience will be considered.

Skills and attributes we consider essential for this role include:

  • Telephone/demo-based selling to businesses for at least 2 years with experience in closing deals
  • Preferably experience selling SaaS products
  • Understanding of principles of social selling

Skills, attributes, and experience that would be nice to have:

  • Minimum 2 years of SaaS sales experience
  • Process-driven and independent
  • Desire to own an outbound sales initiative, experiment, and iterate to continue improving approach and outcomes
  • Experience collaborating with reseller partners in sharing prospects and developing joint-outreach efforts

Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 base with expected $10,000-$20,000 commission

Interview Process

We view the interview process as a collaborative discovery process where we work together to determine whether we are a good match for each other. Questions are not only welcomed but encouraged, at all phases of the process. 

We favor a higher number of shorter rounds since we’re remote, which can be easier for candidates' work schedules, but keep a total time commitment under 2 hours with an optional additional hour to meet the team before making a mutual decision.

$55,000 - $75,000 per year
