Residential Construction Laborer
We are looking for a reliable, hard-working Construction Laborer to join our team. In this role, you will support our job sites by performing various physical tasks, preparing and maintaining a clean work environment, operating light tools, and assisting our skilled tradespeople (such as carpenters, masons, and plumbers).
The ideal candidate is punctual, values job site safety, works well with a team, and is eager to learn on the job.
Key Responsibilities
Site Preparation & Cleanup: Prep construction sites by clearing debris, removing potential hazards, and maintaining a clean, organized work area throughout the day.
Material Handling: Load, unload, and safely move building materials (such as lumber, drywall, hardware, and concrete bags) to designated areas on site.
Tool & Equipment Operation: Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, saws, grinders, pneumatic tampers, and jackhammers. Clean and properly maintain tools after use.
Assisting Skilled Trades: Work alongside and take direction from site supervisors, lead carpenters, and other skilled craftworkers to ensure projects are completed efficiently.
Structural Support: Assist in building and dismantling temporary structures such as scaffolding, bracing, ramps, and barricades.
Groundwork: Dig trenches, fill holes, and compact earth to prepare bases for foundations, masonry, or landscaping.
Safety Compliance: Strictly follow all company safety protocols and OSHA standards, including the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Skills & Qualifications
Physical Stamina & Strength: Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for full shifts, including heavy lifting (up to 50–80 lbs consistently), bending, kneeling, and climbing.
Technical Familiarity: Basic knowledge of construction materials, methods, and standard hand/power tools.
Teamwork & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills; ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately from supervisors.
Adaptability: Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain) and navigating uneven terrain.
Reliability: Punctual attendance and a strong work ethic are non-negotiable.
Education, Experience & Requirements
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent (preferred but not required).
Prior experience in general labor, construction, or remodeling is an asset.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to various job sites.
$20 - $23 per hour
