Residential Construction Concrete Worker
We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and hardworking Concrete Worker to join our residential construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing all phases of residential concrete installation—including site preparation, building and setting forms, placing reinforcement, pouring, and completing high-quality finishes.
The ideal candidate has strong physical stamina, a keen eye for detail, and solid experience with residential concrete projects (such as foundations, slabs, driveways, patios, and sidewalks). You will work closely with the crew to ensure all structures are durable, safe, and finished to the client’s specifications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Preparation & Formwork
Review residential blueprints, layouts, or instructions to determine dimensions and material needs.
Dig, grade, and level the ground subgrade using hand tools or light equipment.
Measure, cut, erect, and brace wood or metal forms to hold the concrete in place.
Install vapor barriers, gravel bases, and expansion joint materials.
2. Reinforcement & Placement
Cut, bend, lay out, and tie steel rebar or position wire mesh to reinforce the concrete structures.
Signal ready-mix delivery trucks to safely position and discharge concrete into forms.
Spread, rake, and vibrate wet concrete to eliminate air pockets and ensure even distribution.
3. Finishing & Curing
Screed and level the concrete surface using straightedges or strike-off boards.
Utilize hand tools and power equipment (bull floats, hand trowels, edgers, groovers, and power trowels) to achieve specified finishes.
Apply specialized residential finishes such as broom, stamped, exposed aggregate, or smooth troweled finishes.
Apply curing compounds, sealants, or protective coverings to ensure optimal hardening and durability.
4. Jobsite Upkeep & Safety
Strip and clean concrete forms and equipment carefully once the concrete has cured so they can be reused.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite by clearing debris and properly storing tools.
Strictly adhere to all construction safety protocols, including wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
