Job Overview – Home Health Aide (HHA)
The Home Health Aide (HHA) delivers personalized, hands-on care to clients in the comfort and privacy of their homes. This role provides assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and daily living support while preserving dignity, comfort, and independence.

Position Summary
The Home Health Aide (HHA) provides hands-on personal care and supportive services to clients in their homes. HHAs assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) while promoting dignity, safety, independence, and comfort.
This role requires certification and the ability to deliver structured, compassionate care in alignment with Unique Home Care’s elevated service standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Personal Care Assistance (ADLs)
• Assist with bathing and personal hygiene
• Assist with dressing and grooming
• Assist with toileting and incontinence care
• Assist with transfers and ambulation
• Provide mobility support
• Assist with feeding when necessary
Supportive Services
• Light housekeeping related to client care
• Meal preparation
• Medication reminders (no administration unless permitted by law)
• Assist with errands and transportation (if applicable)
Observation & Reporting
• Observe and report changes in client condition
• Monitor skin integrity and report concerns
• Document services provided accurately
• Report incidents, falls, or safety concerns immediately
Documentation & Compliance
• Complete daily care documentation
• Utilize Electronic Visit Verification (EVV)
• Maintain confidentiality (HIPAA compliant)
• Follow individualized service plans and company policies
Scope of Practice
This role does NOT include:
• Medication administration (unless legally permitted and trained)
• Wound care
• Injections
• Skilled nursing procedures
• Clinical assessments
• Tasks requiring RN or LPN licensure
Qualifications
• Current Home Health Aide Certification (state compliant)
• Minimum 40–75 hour training program (per state requirement)
• CPR Certification
• Ability to pass background screening
• Previous home care or personal care experience preferred
• Professional and compassionate demeanor
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition clients safely
• Ability to stand, bend, and assist with mobility
• Ability to work in various home environments
Compensation
Compensation is based on experience, certification level, reliability, and performance. Performance-based raises and advancement opportunities are available.
