Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Home Health Aide (HHA) / Compassion Care Aide (CCA)

Employment Type: Full-Time | Part-Time | PRN

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Pay Range: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour, based on licensure, experience, specialty skills, weekend availability, and client acuity. This positions UHC competitively above Florida market averages while supporting recruitment and retention. Florida market data generally places CNAs and HHAs around the mid- to upper-teens per hour, with higher wages for experienced caregivers. 

Position Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or Compassion Care Aide (CCA) provides compassionate, high-quality, non-skilled in-home care that promotes independence, dignity, safety, and quality of life. Caregivers assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), companionship, mobility, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and emotional support while delivering care consistent with the Unique Way.

Essential Responsibilities

Personal Care

• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene
• Assist with ambulation and transfers using proper body mechanics
• Provide incontinence care
• Assist with oral care and skin integrity

Daily Living Support

• Meal planning and preparation
• Medication reminders (no medication administration unless permitted by law)
• Laundry and linen changes
• Light housekeeping
• Grocery shopping and errands
• Transportation to appointments (when authorized)

Companion Care

• Provide meaningful companionship
• Encourage social interaction and cognitive stimulation
• Participate in recreational activities
• Support emotional well-being
• Observe and report changes in condition

Safety & Compliance

• Follow client care plans
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality
• Report incidents, injuries, abuse, neglect, or safety concerns immediately
• Complete documentation accurately and timely
• Maintain infection prevention practices
• Follow emergency preparedness procedures

Required Qualifications

CNA

• Active Florida CNA License
• Current CPR/BLS Certification
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License
• Reliable transportation
• Auto Insurance
• Ability to pass Level II Background Screening
• Negative TB Screening
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

HHA

• Florida Home Health Aide Certificate (minimum state-required training)
• Current CPR/BLS
• High School Diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation
• Driver's License
• Auto Insurance
• Level II Background Screening

CCA (Compassion Care Aide)

• Previous caregiving experience preferred
• Completion of UHC Caregiver Orientation
• CPR Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Reliable transportation
• Excellent communication skills
• Passion for serving seniors and adults with disabilities
