Caregiver
Description:
The Personal Care Aide performs services for clients according to each clients Individual Service Plan, maintaining their personal comfort and dignity as
necessary.Challenging Behavioral Specialist recognize that behavior is a form of communication and utilizes person--centered approaches to respond appropriately to
people living with dementia.
Pay:
Reports to: Administrator//Program Manager/Director of operations
Qualifications:
1. 2. Be at least eighteen (18) of age
Demonstrated ability to read, write, and follow a written plan of care.
3. CBRF Certified and CPI Certified
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
• Performs personal care activities, including but not limited to:
a) Bathing
b) Shampooing
c) Skin care / nail care
d) Oral hygiene
e) Shaving
f) Dressing
• Performs household services essential to health care at home, including but not limited to:
a) Meal preparation / Feeding
b) Laundry
c) Housekeeping
• Performs simple procedures as an extension of therapy and enrichment services
a) Range of motion exercises
b) Assistance in ambulation or exercises
c) Activities
• Assists in the administration of medications that are ordinarily self- administered
• Recognizing that behavior is a form of communication and utilizing person--centered approaches to respond appropriately to people living with
dementia and other challenging behaviors.
• Reports any observed or reported changes in the client’s condition and / or needs.
• Documents cares provided and complete the forms required for the client’s records. Complete the appropriate records to document cares given and
pertinent observations. Observing, documenting, and reporting on residents any changes of care and all incidents to Administration.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients by observing infection control practices, following agency guidelines and reporting unsafe
situations to Administration .
• Communicates effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary team through verbal reports, participation in staff meetings, and team conferences,
and continuing education as requested.
• Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
• Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the client individual care plan.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing environment. Remaining awake and on premises 24/7.
• Cross training and extra duty assignments deemed necessary to facilitate the flow of operations.
$14 - $17 per hour
