Two Roosters Ice Cream is hiring Seasonal Ice Cream Makers to craft delicious, small-batch ice cream and toppings in a fast-paced, high-volume production kitchen. This role requires independent work, teamwork, and attention to detail while following recipes and maintaining food safety standards.

We're looking for a passionate, hard-working, and self-motivated team player to help craft our delicious ice cream! As a Seasonal Ice Cream Maker, you'll be at the heart of our production team, creating the ice creams and toppings that keep our shops, catering, concessions, and vending fully stocked. You’ll also help fulfill wholesale and special orders—all while maintaining the highest quality and food safety standards.

Working closely with the Director of Kitchen and Logistics, you'll execute production tasks independently, following recipes and efficiently producing our signature treats. This is high-volume batch production in a fast-paced, upbeat environment, where you'll manage your own projects alongside the production and delivery teams.

At Two Roosters, our ice cream makers don’t need prior ice cream-making experience—we’ll teach you everything you need to know! Two Roosters is an independent ice cream company that exists to explore how the joy of ice cream makes a bad day better and a good day great.

On an average day, you’ll start at 6:30 AM and work until production is complete, usually between 1:00-4:00 PM. You’ll be churning out large batches of ice cream while working to your own music and collaborating with the team to create exciting new flavors.


This seasonal position runs from April through October 31, with 20-40 hours per week. Part-time work is available from November through March, depending on business needs and employee preference. There is also potential for this role to transition into a year-round, full-time position based on staffing and availability.


Ice Cream Maker Responsibilities

  • Meet production expectations, producing 50+ tubs of fresh ice cream and sorbet daily.
  • Properly label, date, pack, and store up to 200+ pints of ice cream and sorbet each day.
  • Perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift while maintaining time management targets.
  • Prepare ingredients and produce homemade bases, toppings, and inclusions, including hot fudge, cookie dough, caramel sauces, fruit compotes, baked items, and more.
  • Accurately inventory tubs, pints, toppings, and bases to inform the daily production plan.
  • Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts as needed.
  • Communicate clearly, effectively, and respectfully with all team members.
  • Thoughtfully complete daily cleaning tasks to ensure all kitchen areas remain clean and organized.
  • Maintain a clean-as-you-go approach, keeping workspaces tidy and organized throughout the shift.
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.


Ice Cream Maker Qualifications

  • Passion for food, cooking, teamwork, and quality.
  • Ability to measure ingredients accurately and perform basic kitchen math.
  • Capable of working independently while also being a dedicated and collaborative team player.
  • Availability for 30+ hours per week.
  • Strong dedication to cleanliness and organization.
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional and friendly attitude.
  • Willingness to learn, follow instructions precisely, and pay close attention to detail.
  • Must be 18 years or older.


Vacation/Time-off policy:

  • Between April 1 and October 31, time off may not exceed 10 days.
  • Between November 1 and March 31, time off may not exceed two consecutive weeks.
  • All time-off requests require approval from the Kitchen and Logistics Director, based on shift coverage, staffing, and business needs.
  • Ability to stand for up to eight hours and lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Access to a phone with texting, calling, and internet capabilities.
  • Basic understanding of Google software (Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.).

 

 Ice Cream Maker Compensation

  • $15-$18 per hour wage based on experience and qualifications.
  • While most ice cream maker positions are seasonal and end in October or November, a handful of ice cream makers work for Two Roosters through winter and spring. For ice cream makers who stay with us beyond summer, career advancement possibilities exist in our growing company.
