This position is for an area manager to lead both of our stores located in North Raleigh (Greystone Village) and Wake Forest (The Factory).


Area Managers are responsible for their two stores’ overall look and feel, the quality of customer experiences in their shops, meeting sales and profitability targets, and maintaining high team morale. The right person for the job has experience working in a fast-paced environment, shows passion for leading happy, productive teams, and creates and maintains systems for operational excellence. They demonstrate great customer service and people skills, a passion for developing empowered, accountable team members, and the determination and focus to drive sales and profits in our growing company. The area manager is responsible for partnering with the operations team to meet their shops’ financial, cultural and food safety standards. A majority of the area manager’s time is spent supervising and directing the store teams, making staffing decisions (i.e., hiring, training, evaluating, disciplining, discharging, staffing and scheduling), ensuring customer satisfaction and product quality, managing the store’s financial performance, and managing safety and security within the store.


The Area Manager reports to the Owner and is responsible for executing Two Roosters’ mission to explore how the joy of ice cream makes a good day great and a bad day better. Candidates should embody our core values of being generous, responsible, excellent, a good neighbor, and thankful.


RESPONSIBILITIES


Your People

  • Hire, train, develop, and inspire the team, providing regular coaching and feedback to build their knowledge and skills.

  • Drive the implementation of new company programs by actively directing and motivating the team to adapt and improve.
  • Plan, identify, communicate, and delegate appropriate responsibilities and practices to the team to ensure smooth flow of operations.
  • Host meetings as necessary and post to message boards in order to promptly and effectively communicate necessary information and news to the team.
  • Create schedules for the team with the goal of smooth operation, team satisfaction, and business finance in mind.

Your Places

  • Monitor store environment and key business indicators to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement to provide coaching and direction to the store team to achieve operational goals.
  • Meet or beat shop sales and profitability goals, provide great customer experiences, and sustain high team morale.
  • Oversee any in-store events and work closely with Events Coordinator to execute events.
  • Work collaboratively with the Production Team.
  • Manage all operational processes including but not limited to: ordering, inventory management, financial reporting, repairs and maintenance, scheduling, and strategic planning.
  • Ensure efficient inventory levels by placing timely orders of appropriate quantities of all necessary materials, items, and services.
  • Maintain safe and accurate cash handling practices by all employees.
  • Innovate, problem solve, and use good judgment to surpass store and team goals.
  • Manage store promotions, store presentation, holiday decorations and visual merchandising.
  • Actively participate in business analysis; recommend and execute strategic changes.
  • Review and understand shop P&L and manage towards financial results. Participate in monthly leadership and planning meetings where financial results are presented.
  • Demonstrate leadership of the store by ensuring cleanliness, organization, and attractiveness of the store's interior and exterior. This includes facilitating monthly “deep cleanings” of the store.
  • Solicit customer feedback to understand customer needs and the needs of the local community.

Area Managers control much of their schedule but must work 30+ hours in the shops when they are open, and other time will be spent on admin, meetings, and other duties. Our shops are closed on Mondays, so Area Managers typically have Mondays and one other weekend day off (Saturday or Sunday). Ultimately an area manager is still responsible for responding to emergencies and other impactful unforeseen circumstances as they arise.


Shop Manager Qualifications

  • Have retail or client/customer service management experience that includes team leadership for a team of 5 or more.
  • Be available to work two shifts Friday-Sunday with at least one closing shift in that time.
  • Ability to travel to multiple stores and Two Roosters HQ
  • Have great communication skills and a professional, friendly attitude.
  • Have experience coaching, training, developing, and motivating others.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
  • Have access to a phone that can text, make calls, and access the internet.
  • Understanding of Microsoft software, Google and Apple products.


Compensation

  • This role is full time with $60,000 annual salary, and bonus opportunity up to $10k
  • 15 days accrued PTO per year, in addition to 7 days of Two Roosters holidays (Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Thanksgiving weekend (Thurs-Sunday), Easter Sunday).
  • Between April 1 and October 31 vacations may not exceed 10 total days. Vacations are subject to owner approval based on shift coverage, staffing, and business need
  • Between November 1 and March 31 vacations may not exceed 10 days. Vacations are subject to owner approval based on shift coverage, staffing, and business need
  • We cover 50% of our group medical, dental, and vision insurance plan premiums for employees that work more than 30 hours per week as a 30-day average. New employees become eligible for coverage the first day of the month following completion of the 30-day waiting period. A spouse and children may be insured on company plan at employee’s expense.
  • 401k with employer match. We match 100% of the first 3% of the employee’s contribution, plus 50% of the next 2%. Employees are eligible for 401k participation when they have worked at Two Roosters for 1,000 hours.
  • Every five years (or 10,000 hours) of continuous service, full-time employees are eligible to take a paid, one-month sabbatical


Salary

$60,000 - $65,000 per year
