Description

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly analyze project requirements, designs or blueprints and service needs to understand the scope of work
  • Use custom fabrication knowledge to prepare detailed material, labor estimates, including quantities, types, and costs
  • Use show site knowledge to prepare general contractor and third-party estimates
  • Reach out to vendors to collaborate on projects needs and collect specialty quotes
  • Determine factors influencing project costs, including timelines, materials, labor, equipment and overhead
  • Present prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information
  • Identify and flag potential issues with project timelines, or methodology
  • Attend hand-off meetings to explain the estimating methodology of sold project
  • Collaborate with various team members to analyze cost trends and develop strategies to reduce costs
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date on industry pricing changes and best practices. 
  • Verifies vendor costs to maintains cost data base for accurate estimating


Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in the tradeshow, exhibit, event or permanent installation industry
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Working knowledge of standard display building materials and techniques
  • Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to anticipate problems, analyze and proactively determine alternate solutions
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task, change priorities, manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to assume responsibility for completion of estimates in the absence of direct supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
