Description

Objectives:

  • Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points
  • Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape
  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines
  • Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions
  • Maximize payroll efficiency through innovative process development
  • Help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements). 
  • Overseeing the preparation of regulatory reports and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. 
  • Analyzing financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks. 
  • Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  • Accounting and Record Keeping:
  • Ensuring the proper recording and filing of all financial transactions. 
  • Managing the accounting function within the business. 
  • Performing material usage tracking, accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable activities. 
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Developing and monitoring budgets. 
  • Forecasting future financial performance. 
  • Cash Flow Management:
  • Tracking cash inflows and outflows. 
  • Forecasting cash needs. 
  • Making short-term investment or borrowing recommendations. 
  • Internal Controls:
  • Evaluating and improving accounting and internal control systems. 
  • Auditing:
  • Overseeing audits and ensuring compliance with audit requirements. 
  • Financial Analysis and Planning:
  • Analyzing financial data to identify areas for improvement and growth. 
  • Developing plans for financial growth and investment. 
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Communicating financial information to management and other stakeholders. 
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure financial goals are met. 
  • Other Responsibilities:
  • Handling billing, payroll, and taxes. 
  • Assisting management with financial decisions. 
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting databases. 
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting or related field
  • 5+ years of experience as a senior level accounting manager, preferably in the custom fabrication, tradeshow and/or event industry
  • Ability to problem-solve under pressure
  • Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; Access, database, or other system knowledge
  • Proficiency with accounting software and experience with a software system implementation
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
  • Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations
  • Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team members
  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and needs
  • Ability to adjust approaches to facilitate smooth teamwork and a positive work environment
