Tutu School Ballet Teacher Cary, NC · Part time Company website

Become a "Magic Maker" at Tutu School! We are seeking a spirited Ballet Teacher to join our boutique studio, where we blend classical technique with enchanted storytelling for children ages 6 months to 8 years. Beyond leading our signature curriculum, you will act as a brand ambassador—nurturing relationships with families, managing studio operations, and ensuring every child feels the joy of twirling. If you are a reliable, high-energy professional who believes that "brave little muscles" and "imagination" go hand-in-hand, we want to meet you.

About Tutu School

Tutu School is a collection of boutique ballet schools that provides a creative dance education experience for children from 6 months to 8 years old. It is a place where students are urged to fully exercise their imaginations as well as their bodies, and where we not only focus on teaching children age-appropriate motor skills and the fundamental principles of ballet, but also expose them to the world of classical music and the enchanting stories of famous ballets.

Description

Every child should know what it feels like to dance.

At Tutu School, we believe that twirling should be a fundamental part of childhood.

We create magical, nurturing ballet spaces for children ages 6 months to 8 years old — spaces where imagination and motor skill development grow side by side, and where classical music and enchanted stories meet brave, determined little muscles.

We are looking for a Ballet Teacher — a true “Magic Maker” — to join our team.

This is not just a dance teaching job. It is an opportunity to become part of a mission-driven, boutique ballet community that prioritizes warmth, excellence, and joyful professionalism.

We Offer

  • Paid onboarding and online training
  • Supportive, positive company culture
  • 401(k) program
  • Free membership for staff children
  • Employee discounts on services and retail
  • A beautiful, whimsical work environment
  • The opportunity to change lives — one pirouette at a time

Who Thrives Here

The teachers who thrive at Tutu School are:

  • Spirited in action — enthusiastic, creative, and expressive
  • Invested in children and families — genuinely warm and relational
  • Committed to excellence — attentive to detail and follow-through
  • Comfortable leading with energy and presence
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Willing to learn deeply and grow within a structured curriculum

We are looking for instructors who are invested in nurturing the big dreams of little dancers.

Availability & Commitment

We are currently hiring for:

  • Weekend shifts (Saturday afternoon & Sunday morning currently)
  • Select weekday afternoon shifts

Weekend availability is strongly preferred and may be required for this role.

We are looking for teachers who can commit to a consistent weekly schedule once training is complete.

Training & Commitment (Please Read Carefully)

Becoming a Tutu School teacher includes a 2–3 week paid training period that involves:

  • Online learning through our Twirl training platform
  • In-studio observation
  • Assisting and co-teaching multiple classes per week
  • Gradual leadership of sections of class

This period can feel intensive, especially at the beginning, and requires reliable communication, punctuality, preparation, and follow-through.

Training is paid and supportive — and it is also an evaluative period. Not every candidate completes training, and that’s okay. We view this as a mutual opportunity to ensure the right long-term fit for both you and our studio community.

Teachers who thrive here enjoy learning deeply, showing up consistently, and growing into a rhythmic weekly teaching schedule after training is complete.

If you are excited by the idea of mastering a curriculum, building relationships with families, and becoming part of a cohesive team — we would love to meet you.

  • Take attendance and communicate clearly with families about membership and promotions
  • Assist with light retail sales and studio operations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the studio space
  • Communicate effectively with management and team members

Qualifications

  • Strong background in dance (ballet experience strongly preferred)
  • Experience teaching or working with young children (ages 1–8)
  • Comfortable managing small groups (5–10 children)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain high energy and warmth in a structured class environment
  • Reliable transportation and consistent availability

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in dance or early childhood is a plus.
