We help small and midsized businesses handle the people side of growth. Our Circle model brings HR professionals together around each client, so no one has to solve every challenge alone. You’ll have ownership of your work, teammates to collaborate with, and the chance to make a visible difference across a variety of businesses.

What You’ll Do

As a Fractional HR Specialist, you’ll be a trusted HR resource for clients and an active member of your Circle. Your work will include:

• Guiding clients through employee relations, performance, discipline, and workplace concerns
• Building practical policies, handbooks, and HR processes
• Supporting hiring, onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding
• Coordinating leaves, accommodations, benefits, and payroll
• Processing payroll for assigned clients when needed
• Leading HR audits, risk assessments, and training
• Keeping client work organized and your Circle informed through clear updates and handoffs

You’ll work with different businesses and challenges each week. Strong follow-through matters here: clients and teammates count on you to be prepared, meet deadlines, and show up on time for scheduled meetings.

You’ll Be a Great Fit If You Have

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably with small or growing businesses
• Confidence advising on sensitive employee matters and HR compliance
• Experience managing competing priorities and communicating proactively
• Hands-on payroll processing experience
• Familiarity with HRIS or payroll systems such as Paycor, ADP, Gusto, or BambooHR
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365

Multistate HR, consulting, or fractional HR experience is a strong plus. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is preferred.

The Details

• Remote, part-time: Approximately 15–30 hours per week, based on client needs
• Schedule: Flexible within our 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Eastern Time operating hours, with regular client and Circle meetings
• Pay: $25–$30 per hour, based on experience
