Tuff City Records is an independent record label in Midtown Manhattan. Tuff City Records is a 40-year veteran company with an extensive master catalog of R&B, Rap, and Funk spanning 60 years. We are seeking a passionate and energetic Vinyl Sales and Distribution Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in old school hip hop music and a desire to grow in responsibilities. This position will initially be responsible for promoting our vinyl records to retailers and media outlets while tracking license deals and performing other administrative tasks.
Description
Responsibilities:
• Work on site
• Ability to “bang the phones”(often)and heavy lift inventory(sometimes)
• Promote vinyl records to retailers and media outlets, domestically and abroad
• Ad hoc administrative tasks, such as drafting letters and email correspondence
Qualifications:
•Ability to sell, market and solicit records and (some) cds and manage, ship and receive orders and inventory
• Strong understanding of the vinyl industry
• Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
• Passion for old school hip hop, soul, funk, and R&B music
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Salary
$19 - $25 per hour
