Description

Tropical Touch Design (TTD) of Miami is one of South Florida’s most respected interior landscaping companies, offering professional plant services and products for over 40 years.

We’re hiring a Plant Delivery & Installation Technician to keep plants moving: delivering work orders and replacement plants to client sites, installing new plantings, keeping our nursery property in top shape, and stepping in to cover client plant-care accounts when teammates are out. Indoor plant care is something you’ll learn and do as backup coverage.

This is a physically demanding, outdoor, and on-the-road job. You’ll spend most of your day on your feet, lifting and moving heavy plants and planters, loading and unloading vehicles, and driving between our nursery and client sites across Miami-Dade and Broward, often in South Florida heat. If you like staying active, working with your hands, and seeing a finished plant install come together, this job is for you.

Most of our team has been with us for years, and for good reason. We take care of our people the same way we care for our plants: with care, attention, and respect.

  • Great Team: Join a supportive, friendly team in a family-owned business where people stay long-term
  • Steady Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Deliveries, driving, and plant replacements

  • Drive company vehicle between the nursery, growers, and client sites across South Florida (Miami-Dade and Broward), loading and unloading work orders and replacement plants on schedule
  • Swap out declining plants with the correct replacement (same plant, same size unless directed otherwise), then bring removed plants back to the nursery and log them
  • Confirm each delivery with photos and a short report to your supervisor
  • Pick up plants and supplies from growers and vendors as scheduled
  • Keep vehicles, tools, dollies, and hand trucks clean, stocked, and in good working order, and immediately report any issues to your supervisor

Installations

  • Install new plants, planters, and decorative top dressing (the finishing layer on the soil) at client sites, following the design plan
  • Help with large installs, holiday decor installs and removals, and plant changeouts
  • Pot, stage, and secure plants for safe transport, and leave every site clean with no soil, debris, or water left behind

Nursery and grounds care

  • Keep our nursery property clean and organized: sweeping, debris removal, weeding, and general grounds upkeep, and report any hazards to your supervisor
  • Water, prune, and care for nursery stock so plants are ready to go out
  • Receive, unload, and organize incoming deliveries, and help track inventory and flag low stock

Indoor Plants Technician backup coverage

  • Cover Indoor Plants Technicians’ client accounts as needed, servicing plants to TTD standards: watering, cleaning, dusting and shining, pruning, and removing dead leaves and flowers
  • Report plant replacement needs to your supervisor with photos
  • Deliver excellent customer service during client visits - warm welcome, notification if needed to the client about plant replacements (same plant, same size), provide a QR code, office info, or business card for sales, scheduling, or maintenance needs, and notify your supervisor of any requests or concerns

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and push and pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Able to work an 8-hour day outdoors in South Florida heat, standing most of the day, and climbing ladders
  • Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented: the right plant gets to the right place, on schedule
  • Able to work with limited direct supervision, following company procedures and keeping the supervisor updated
  • Able to learn indoor plant care
  • Ability to speak English is required
