This position supports Trinity Baptist Ministries’ three campuses, private school, Community Christian Academy (CCA), preschool (TBP), and tract ministry, Amazing Grace Tract Fellowship (AGTF) by ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations that reflect strong stewardship. Key responsibilities include processing invoices, reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and managing month end close activities in alignment with GAAP. The role requires strong analytical skills, technical proficiency, and effective collaboration with ministry partners and staff. A solid accounting background and the ability to maintain organized, reliable financial records are essential to serving our overall mission.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)


Education & Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA, MBA, or other advanced accounting degrees is a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of experience in financial or accounting roles.

Knowledge & Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Knowledge of Cost Accounting and/or Government Accounting is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with ERP Systems and accounting software is a plus.

Professional Skills

  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders to support and assist in achieving ministry goals.
  • Flexible, team‑oriented, and equipped with strong interpersonal skills.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Process and pay vendor invoices accurately and on schedule.
  • Reconcile all financial accounts, including bank statements and PEX accounts.
  • Record all assets, liabilities, income, and expenses accurately within the accounting system.
  • Prepare timely journal entries (JEs) to correct or adjust financial records as needed.
  • Execute month‑end close procedures in a timely and organized manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date financial records and statements.
  • Ensure all financial reporting complies with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Monitor and ensure staff adherence to established accounting policies and procedures.


Due to the financial insight and responsibility this position requires, the person hired must already be a member or become of member of Trinity Baptist Church at the time of hire.

Salary

$35,000 - $38,000 per year
