We are seeking a talented Shop Foreman/Lead Scenic Carpenter to join our team and oversee the production of event and project elements at the highest level. This role will be responsible for executing creative direction within budget constraints, producing a wide variety of elements that may include carpentry, metalwork, welding, wiring, painting, vinyl installation, and more. Key responsibilities include ensuring all tools and equipment are operated safely and within design parameters, wearing proper safety gear, and maintaining an organized workspace. Additionally, this position will assist with project and supply management and the overall organization of daily workflow. Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and assemble wood, plastic, and metal structures with the ability to use all appropriate equipment and tools.
  • Supervising and mentoring shop personnel
  • Plan and manage all onsite manpower needs and installation requirements under the project schedule and budget.
  • Coordinate production and attend meetings with other members of the team, across multiple departments.
  • Monitoring job costing, quality reporting, forecasting, and productivity.
  • Planning and ordering of project materials
  • Work together with management daily to communicate production goals and quality specifications of work, discuss issues that have surfaced (around people, means and methods, material or equipment use, etc. extra or out-of-scope work), and ideas to help the team achieve project goals.
  • When rework is required, help the team learn from any mistakes and accurately record costs.
  • Seeks solutions to special requests or problems with their work in a timely and professional manner.
  • Experience with basic hand tools/saws and milling machines
  • Observe strict safe work habits
  • Develop strong working relationships with vendors, resources, and team members
  • Travel to event sites for team support and fabrication installations as needed representing the Company and its clients professionally and responsibly while in the field.
  • Negotiate with vendors to find savings and efficiencies
  • Demonstrate the highest of standards in adherence to agency processes and protocol
