Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Job Coach/Job Developer to empower individuals with diverse abilities to achieve meaningful employment. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between job seekers and community employers, providing personalized coaching, skill development, and ongoing support to foster independence and success in the workplace. Duties
- Develop tailored employment plans by assessing each individual’s skills, interests, and goals, ensuring alignment with available job opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with local employers to identify suitable job openings and promote inclusive hiring practices.
- Provide hands-on coaching to clients on job search strategies, interview techniques, workplace etiquette, and task-specific skills.
- Offer ongoing mentoring and support to clients during their transition into new roles, addressing challenges proactively.
- Conduct outreach activities such as recruiting potential candidates, facilitating training sessions, and promoting workforce development initiatives.
- Maintain detailed records of client progress, employment outcomes, and employer feedback to inform continuous improvement efforts.
- Stay informed about employment laws, labor regulations, and best practices related to working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or addiction histories.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in workforce development, social work, teaching, or related fields with a focus on employment services.
- Knowledge of employment & labor law as it pertains to inclusive hiring practices.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is highly desirable.
- Strong interviewing, mentoring, recruiting, and training skills to motivate clients toward employment success.
- Ability to navigate addiction counseling principles when supporting clients facing substance use challenges.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to coaching diverse populations.
