The TAI (Certified) Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on our fleet of Prevost motor coaches and shuttle buses. This role is crucial to ensuring our vehicles meet DOT regulations and manufacturer's specifications, minimizing downtime and maintaining our high standards of safety and service excellence.
The Diesel Mechanic is an integral member of the maintenance operations at TRAXX America. Their primary responsibilities are to:
· Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostic and repair work on motor coaches and shuttle buses to minimize downtime.
· Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
· Perform repairs and maintenance to ensure adherence to DOT regulations and manufacturer's specifications.
· Perform regular checks of the yard and motor coaches for damage, check for driver reported defects, and update and maintain a record of motor coaches and shuttles in the yard.
· Check and schedule inspections as indicated on the inspection board.
· Create, issue, track and update work orders.
· Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work and repair work.
· Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
· Work collaboratively and communicate with the maintenance team and other members of the organization
· Other duties and responsibilities
· Certified or Qualified Diesel Mechanic in Truck and Transport or Heavy-Duty space.
· Minimum of 3-5 years’ heavy-duty mechanic experience or relevant experience
· Established knowledge of Diesel Engine, Transmission, Electrical and Electronic System, Brake System, Fuel, Ignition and Emission System, Drive Train Components, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) System
· Valid CDL B driver’s license with air endorsement
· Motorcoach operating certificates and specifications, as they pertain to maintenance
· Working knowledge diagnostic computers and software
· Past experience working on Motor Coaches preferred. Past experience working with Prevost fleet a significant asset
· Ability to adapt to an environment with changing priorities and interruptions
· Certification as a diesel mechanic by a private or public agency recognized by TRAXX America OR completion of a four (4) year diesel mechanic apprentice program.
· CDL B
· Must have own OSHA approved footwear.
· Must have own hand tools or be willing to acquire hand tools.
JOB TYPE: Full-time, Permanent Wage: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
