Tractorbeam is an applied AI company in Chicago. We help large companies put AI to work on the things that actually run their business, and we're building the platform that makes it repeatable.
We're a small, senior team. Our customers include some of the largest firms in finance, healthcare and software. Every person we hire shapes how the company works.
What you'll do
- Figure out where AI creates the most value inside a business
- Build the roadmap and business case behind it
- Scope the work with the customer and our team
- Build and ship the solution yourself
- Prove it works with real usage, then make it better
- Keep leadership in the loop with clear updates and results
- Bring what you learn back to the product team
You might be a fit if you
- Have 2+ years in a customer-facing technical role: forward deployed engineering, solutions architecture, technical consulting, or software engineering with client work
- Write production code in Python or TypeScript
- Have built with LLMs past the demo stage
- Can explain a technical tradeoff to an engineer and to an executive in the same meeting
- Do your best work when the problem isn't fully defined yet
- Bonus: finance or healthcare experience
