Position Overview

TLS is recruiting for an Assistant Event Manager to manage, lead and inspire our crowd management employees while helping them navigate their employment with the company. The ideal candidate if hired will act as the liaison between our leadership and the onsite teams. You will be expected to be professional, to enforce and follow company policies, procedures and guidelines. You will be responsible for making sure employees are following company policy, procedures, and guidelines including following post orders and contractual agreements between the client and the company.

Position Requirements 

Must have 5 years of Event Staff experience. (Experience should be described on resume)

Must have 3 years of leadership experience. (Experience should be described on resume)

Must possess a State Issued Driver's license.

Must have customer service experience. 

Must have a functional mobile device. 

Must have reliable transportation. 

 

Responsibilities

 

Leadership team members are expected to stand/walk for extended periods of time to secure the perimeter and interior of an indoor or outdoor event venue. This includes securing all entrances and exits of the venue.

 

Responsible for creating the Pre-Event Crowd Management deployment plan, distributing this plan to employees prior to an event and reviewing the plan prior to deploying team to their post. May be required to provide the plan individually to employees arriving late to shift.

 

Attend meetings with the venue’s management team and take notes for debriefing with the event staff team. Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff, vendors, industry partners and clients. Communicate with the team and management of events and advise on best practices.

 

Research event history, demographics to devise a clear security plan for the event or venue. Develop a staffing plan including the amount of event staff or event security needed to secure the venue properly including additional staff to make up for call outs. Upselling clients by selling them additional services we offer.

 

Facilitate the execution of clients crowd management needs by actively listening to their concerns and devising a plan or solution to fulfill their crowd management or security service needs. Respond to client communication (emails, text and voice calls) during work hours (as designated on your When I Work schedule) and must be available to clients 24/7 during active events.

 

Provide intense training to newly hired team members. Train newly hired team members to use scheduling software applications, attendance software applications, payroll software applications, and assist with the onboarding process. You will be expected to assist in troubleshooting when an employee has trouble using any software applications.

 

Create event schedules for all events and assure all event staff employees receive breaks by following event staffing plan for the event. May be required to provide scheduled break relief for other event staff team members as needed.

 

Greet all guests with a friendly smile and professional tones, and assure the guest is having a great customer experience.

 

May be required to notify the police, fire department or emergency medical services of problems if requested or otherwise warranted.

 

Familiarize themselves with the information and facilities located at each venue where they are posted.

 

Generate additional income for the company by seeking out additional contracts, venues, and events.

 

Observe and report matters of concern to event manager and complete incident reports as necessary.

 

Professionally assist guests with instructions to utilize facilities, shops or other desired destinations.

 

Provide support to other team members when asked or if you see they need assistance.

 

Serve where needed or as support to other tasked team members at each event.

 

Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Events Manager or Director of Events.

 

Utilize effective interpersonal skills when interacting with guests and the public.

 

Cultivating a relationship with clients and their customer base.

 

Deescalate irate team members as necessary.

 

Issue corrective actions for misconduct.

 

Equipment

Utilize two-way radio including safeguard of such radio or other issued equipment.

Operate Walk thru Body Scanners and Walk thru Magnetometer.

Handheld Metal Detectors

Ticket Scanning Devices.

 

Computer Skills

General computer literacy required. Basic understanding of the use of mobile applications. A willingness to learn new technology skills.

 

Microsoft Office specifically Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

Must have experience creating documents using Adobe Acrobat

Must have experience scanning documents using Adobe Scan

 

Required Technology: Must have a functional mobile device which allows access to the internet or cellular service.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other team members of the organization.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires working outdoors and indoors and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for long periods of time. This position consists of shift work. Typical shifts are 4 – 8 hours per day, a mixture of day and evening shifts required by the client site. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time in extreme weather conditions.
