Position Summary
The Sales Representative – Installation Division is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities for Source Communications’ Low Voltage and Security Systems Installation Division. This role focuses on expanding the commercial customer base through proactive prospecting, relationship-building, and consultative solution selling.
The position promotes and sells integrated low-voltage solutions including structured cabling, fiber optics, access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, wireless infrastructure, and related IT and security technologies. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong industry knowledge, ethical sales practices, and compliance with all applicable state, federal, and local regulations.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 3+ years of proven sales experience, in low voltage systems, security, access control, cabling, alarms, voice solutions, and related.
- Strong understanding of system design principles for low voltage systems.
- Commercial B2B sales experience strongly preferred
- Consultative or solution-based sales experience preferred
- Ability to read building plan, blueprints, and system drawings is a plus.
- Excellent communications, presentation and negotiation skills.
Licensing & Eligibility
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and customer‑required security clearances
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

- Working knowledge of low voltage and physical security systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information

- Proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)
New Business Development
- Identify, target, and pursue new customers within assigned territories and vertical markets
- Research and qualify prospects through lead-generation initiatives and networking
- Conduct customer meetings, site visits, and needs assessments
- Develop and present proposals, scope-of-work documents, and solution recommendations
- Negotiate pricing and contracts within company guidelines
- Meet or exceed assigned sales targets while maintaining margin discipline
Relationship & Account Management
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships
- Serve as a trusted advisor by understanding customer technical, operational, and compliance needs
- Ensure proper handoff of closed opportunities to internal account management and project teams
- Maintain detailed and accurate customer data within the CRM system
Marketing & CRM Activities
- Assist with the development and execution of sales and marketing initiatives
- Participate in approved trade shows, industry events, and networking activities
- Support the creation and execution of marketing email campaigns
- Track sales activity, pipeline forecasts, and performance metrics
Compensation & Pay Structure
Base Salary
- $55,000 – $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience, market, and performance plus performance-based Commissions. Expected range of 30k-40k.
Commission
- $30,000 – $40,000 annually, based on performance
Travel & Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel locally and regionally as required
- Ability to sit, stand, drive, and work on customer sites for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
Employment Classification
This position is expected to qualify as Exempt –Sales under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), based on duties and responsibilities.
