Tiger Time, the official after school program of Princeton Public Schools, is seeking caring, reliable, and engaging Mentors to support our students across the district’s four elementary schools: Johnson Park, Community Park, Littlebrook, and Riverside.
Tiger Time Mentors help create a safe, structured, and supportive environment where students can unwind, connect with peers, and participate in meaningful activities at the end of their school day. This is a great opportunity for aspiring educators, counselors, youth workers, or anyone interested in working with children in a school-based setting.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with students in grades Pre-K to 5 during after school hours
- Facilitate enrichment activities, games, and free play
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and fellow staff
- Support the social-emotional learning goals of the program through daily Streak Meetings and positive behavior strategies
- Follow all safety, supervision, and attendance protocols
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming program space
- Uphold the values and expectations of the Tiger Time program and Princeton Public Schools
Schedule & Availability:
- Staff must be available to work at least two consistent days per week, Monday through Friday
- Hours are 2:30–4:30 p.m. at minimum, with the option to work as late as 6:00 p.m.
- Preference is given to staff available on Mondays
- Additional preference is given to staff who can work early dismissal days (1:00 p.m. start time)
Location:
Tiger Time Mentors may be assigned to any of the four elementary buildings in Princeton Public Schools.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings is preferred
- Affable and engaging personality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependability, punctuality, and a collaborative mindset
- Commitment to supporting children’s safety, engagement, and growth
- Must pass a background check and complete all required training
