Tiger Time Mentors support elementary students in a safe, structured after school environment by leading activities, building relationships, and promoting social-emotional learning across Princeton’s four elementary schools.

Tiger Time, the official after school program of Princeton Public Schools, is seeking caring, reliable, and engaging Mentors to support our students across the district’s four elementary schools: Johnson Park, Community Park, Littlebrook, and Riverside.


Tiger Time Mentors help create a safe, structured, and supportive environment where students can unwind, connect with peers, and participate in meaningful activities at the end of their school day. This is a great opportunity for aspiring educators, counselors, youth workers, or anyone interested in working with children in a school-based setting.


Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and engage with students in grades Pre-K to 5 during after school hours
  • Facilitate enrichment activities, games, and free play
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and fellow staff
  • Support the social-emotional learning goals of the program through daily Streak Meetings and positive behavior strategies
  • Follow all safety, supervision, and attendance protocols
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming program space
  • Uphold the values and expectations of the Tiger Time program and Princeton Public Schools

Schedule & Availability:

  • Staff must be available to work at least two consistent days per week, Monday through Friday
  • Hours are 2:30–4:30 p.m. at minimum, with the option to work as late as 6:00 p.m.
  • Preference is given to staff available on Mondays
  • Additional preference is given to staff who can work early dismissal days (1:00 p.m. start time)

Location:

Tiger Time Mentors may be assigned to any of the four elementary buildings in Princeton Public Schools.


Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings is preferred
  • Affable and engaging personality
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Dependability, punctuality, and a collaborative mindset
  • Commitment to supporting children’s safety, engagement, and growth
  • Must pass a background check and complete all required training


Salary

$25 - $30 per hour
