Responsible for preparing a transaction for closing

Description

We are seeking a skilled Closing Paralegal to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in preparing real estate transactions for closing. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, from coordinating with various stakeholders to meticulously preparing closing packages and ensuring all documents are in order. Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with real estate agents, buyers, sellers, and lenders to gather necessary information and documentation for closing transactions.
  • Prepare and review closing documents, including contracts, deeds, affidavits, and settlement statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state regulations.
  • Coordinate closing logistics, including scheduling closings, and disbursing funds in accordance with established procedures.
  • Review title searches, review title commitments, and address any title issues that may arise during the closing process.
  • Assist attorneys with various legal tasks related to real estate transactions, such as drafting legal documents and conducting legal research as needed.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical files, ensuring all documentation is properly filed and accessible for future reference.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients by promptly addressing inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise during the closing process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, Associate’s Degree, or equivalent experience in paralegal studies or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a closing paralegal in a real estate law firm or similar setting.
  • Proficiency in real estate transaction software, such as Qualia or SoftPro, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of North Carolina real estate laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality assurance.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals.
