There With Care (TWC) is committed to providing comprehensive services, vital resources, and unwavering support to families during the critical phase of a medical crisis with their child. We have served over 10,000 families referred by medical agencies at our locations in Colorado, the Bay Area of California and now, Nashville, Tennessee. Our goal is to serve over 100,000 families as we expand across the United States.

 

The Role

 

We are on the lookout for a full-time Volunteer Manager to lead our volunteer day-to-day operations, overseeing critical aspects such as recruitment, training, and organizing schedules for both individuals and groups of volunteers. This person will foster collaboration across our various locations, making a true difference in the lives of those we serve.

 

It's important to note that this role is hands-on, necessitating active involvement at our Denver and Boulder locations providing the opportunity for meaningful in-person connections. If you're passionate about community, empathy, and positive change, this is the role for you! 


The Important Work You’ll Do 

  • Collaborate with department heads to craft a comprehensive volunteer needs assessment, shaping the future of volunteer engagement at There With Care.
  • Be the driving force behind recruitment, training, and scheduling of volunteers. 
  • Utilize Salesforce to track volunteer data including availability, and scheduling.
  • Actively engage in recruiting volunteers using a variety of channels and outreach efforts.
  • Partner with Administration to develop a robust volunteer benefits and recognition program, ensuring volunteers feel valued and appreciated.
  • Cultivate and expand our volunteer base, strengthening existing relationships and forging new partnerships.
  • Develop a volunteer matrix of organizational needs for special events.
  • Craft both internal and volunteer manuals offering essential information.
  • Schedule volunteers for events based on organizational priorities, ensuring a smooth experience for all.
  • Keep volunteers informed and engaged through a variety of channels.
  • Prioritize background checks to enhance the safety and security of our community.
  • Collaborate with marketing to ensure website is updated with current volunteer information.

 

The Important Skills You’ll Need 

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Flexibility to attend in-person meetings as needed in a hybrid environment, at both our Denver and Boulder locations.
  • Proficiency in best practices for volunteer coordination.
  • Proven experience in recruiting, screening, and training volunteers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative work environment, fostering teamwork.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in program coordination and project management.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working with the public in both formal and informal settings.
  • Knowledge of best practices related to facilitating volunteer programs for nonprofit organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, motivate, lead, and relate effectively to a diverse range of individuals.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven customer service skills.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams and to creatively solve problems.

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a required Criminal Background Check to ensure a safe and secure environment for our staff and the families we serve.

Salary

$52,000 - $57,000 per year
